I know a lot of you don't like them, but a lot of you do. Just got some news in regards to a new Pearl Jam album and world tour.

Their new album looks to have a release date of November this year, with the lads embarking on a full blown world tour in 2003. First destination? Australia!

Last time they were here was '96, so after a seven year hiatus, I am sure all the Pearl Jam fans will be bursting outta their skins to get along. Having never seen them live, I know I am.

I'm a very, very excited man. :D

1998, I think it was, actually (on the back of 'Yield').

Correct. OK tour, but would have been so much better if Matt Cameron was behind the kit instead of Jack Irons, who was literally a few weeks off having the mental breakdown that lea to him leaving the band.

Awesome live band and always an emotional experience seeing PJ.

Blah. Apart from a few good songs (wait, let's count them - Hail Hail, Brain Of J, Faithfull, God's Dice, Insignificance, errr.....5 songs in 3 albums........i may have forgotten a couple.........at the most), they've done nothing since Vitalogy. (not including Vitalogy - their best album imo......it just all fell apart when Mr Abruzeezzee left, and no - i probably didn't spell that correctly.)

I only saw them once, i think it was in '96, and Jack Irons was playing so it was crap anyway.

It would have been nice to have seen them in about '93 i reckon.

I reckon 'No Code' is a pretty under-rated album (although, it's not particularly full of live fare either). 'Yield' is also fairly decent, IMO, although, I think the last album left a lot to be desired.

I think No Code is their worste album, but it is still better than anything 99% of other bands are doing. Yield is bloody brilliant and I think behind only Ten and Vs. I also think Binauraul was pretty good

I can't wait for the tour :)

Heh. I thought the opposite - i didn't mind Binaural but didn't really get into No Code and Yield. :p (apart from the occasional song anyway...)

Bullsh*t Mr Phonque! I remember when Yield come out we were raving about it over a round of golf one arvo! You were actually talking me into it!

No Code has grown on me over the years, but when the reference point was the brilliant Vitalogy, well its pretty hard to compare. That (Vitalogy) is still one of the last truly great rock albums made. Really put Brendan O'brien on the map as a great producer IMO.

Wqas a fan of the last album. SOme of the songs appeared to lack a bit of time and thought and some of the arrangements were a little ordinary, but still contained some really good tunes nonetheless. And anything with Matt Cameron on it is worth the price alone just for that!

As always, looking forward to their next offering.

Yeah probably. lol :p

There's a handful of cool songs on Yield, but a bigger handful of crap. I still think the first 2 songs are great but i guess that over time, the rest of the album lost me. I listened to it a few months ago and got nothing out of it. Vitalogy and Vs on the other hand....
