I overheard a rumor yesterday at Car Insurance Park that I hope isn't true. James Fantasia (our recruiting manager) had his laptop stolen in the past week. I hate to think what was in there - recruiting plans, player notes etc etc. Anyone else hear this one?

It's not a rumour - It's true, Fantasia stupidly left his laptop in his car parked outside of his house. Fortunately most of the data in on the AFC network & it was password protected.

I don't think so, I think the PAPs have done a lot better for the last couple of years than the Crows, recruiting wise etc.
And how stupid was Fantasia???? I never never never leave anything in my car. My hubby's car was stolen from our carport a couple of years ago, and it was full of his crap. He lost the lot. He learnt that lesson very quickly.

Yea they have been superb, exspecially draft wise.
Trading a number 4 pick for Darryl Wakelin
Picking up Paul Koulouritis (first round?)
Picking up Micheal Stevens Bro. (first round?)
Or was it picking up another ruckman in this years draft, how many do they have now?? Ohh wait I fergot they are all going to turn into Key Position Players :p
Kane Cornes is a very average footballer, thats why he slipped so far in one of the weakest drafts.
They have been good in trades though (but so have Adelaide) couple of good thing they did do well though was getting Hardwick, and letting Francis go, trading Eagleton for Montgomery, and Bishop (who is crap), trading Cummings for Schoefield, and getting Co'ckatoo Collins for basically nothing was another good move.
But their current teams nucleas is from all the players they got when they entered the league (sadly).
Im not saying Adelaide's drafting has been that good either, but Port Adelaides isnt much better (If that.)

How good would you say has Melbourne's drafting and trading been in comparison Tyson? ;) :p

Yeah, a whole 7 players out of the 22 were not traded for or drafted.
Kane Cornes was taken higher than Nick Stevens, and if he turns out to be just as average I will be happy.

I actually acquired a copy of one of his recruiting files....

Just saw u18 championships. I'm confused.....is Victoria two states or one?

Reidy gave me a list of players to talk to....its very complicated. Why can't we just draft all of our players from Woodville-West Torrens again?
17th June
Reidy told me that I'm on thin ice at the moment....he seems to think that we should look at getting some good players from teams other than Woodville-West Torrens. I didn't understand what he meant at first, but I think I do now....I have put Steven Sziller high on my list of required players as a result of this discussion.

Reidy was in a bad mood today. I think he found out I got given last years' draftee notes by Choco Williams.....he's a good bloke. Well, I thought he was.
21st June
I heard that Reidy talked to the board today about me being incompetent. I'm worried. What can I do to get rid of the evidence?

Was great last year and is probably the All Australian full back at the moment, so i dont see your point.
Picking up Paul Koulouritis (first round?)
very talented but injured. Once injuries stop (when he finishes growing) then he will be a good player. Travis Johnstone has taken ages to get over injuries etc. so i cant see any reason why Paul is any different.

We didnt pick up Michael Stevens brother. We picked up Michael Stevens.

Port dont pick up players for what they need. They pick up the best possible talent left in the draft at their draft picks. Brooks was still there, so they picked him up.

Gotta wonder how much youve actually seen of him considering you live in Chicago. He was drafted at no 20...hardly all that far down in the draft.

9 players out of the weekends 22 that played were on the original list in 1997. And im also trying to work out how that is "sad". Those 9 (Primus, Wanganeen, Francou, James, Dew, Kingsley, Tredrea, Burgoyne, Lade)...most would make Melbournes team. Still dont understand how that is sad! Most are still young and arent even in their prime yet.
LMAO.Chicago.
I am pretty sure Tyson's Daryl Wakelin comment was a compliment as in Port did very well getting him for just an early draft pick.
