Not flashy enough to earn my man love.

Newton on the other hand...

I reckon we had the same thread last year with McLean in place of Jones.

Shall we get in early for '09?

Morton or Petterd perhaps?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Warnock. Man that guy is so overdue, by the time we get round to delisting him, Trent Zomg Jr will be playing for us under the F/S selection

According to the farce of a season preview in the Herald Sun yesterday Warnock "cemented his spot". If playing 2 games is "cementing" then as far as I'm concerned Luke Williams is a life member of the AFL.

For the love of god, can somebody please tell me why we didnt delist this fool end of 2007?

Nobody knows the answer to that question. We have Valenti on the Rookie list (21 this year) yet there is a 24 year old (this year) on there who has played 2 senior games ffs! The only justification there would be insurance because of his height but having said that why only 2 games

Warnock is an anomoly that not even the CIA super computers could figure out. He is in the prime of his career (age wise) yet has no senior experience so he doesn't have the development a 24 year old should. He has simply taken someone elses spot for years.:thumbsd: The club is to blame.

Would rather have kept Ferguson than Warnock.

Maybe we signed him on a 2 year deal when we promoted him? Whereas Ferguson was out of contract?

Yep I could not understand why they showed Ferguson the door

I've always wondered why he has never been in the talk of future MFC captains. It has always been McLean or whoever yet never Jones mentioned.

This always surprised me as he always seems to be leading most drills or runs during preseason or training sessions. Every photo you see N Jones is out front working his tail off, but comments over the preseason have clarified it.

As part of the SWOT the players did on each other he needs to become more vocal to become a better leader, which i hear he is doing. Magic… it will only improve us, and to see a bloke who clearly puts it on the line each week now be vocally leading the boys too is great for the supporters to see.

Yeah I would have kept Ferguson. Better still, I wish the ferguson-brad sewell deal went thru a couple of seasons back.

Jones is so far ahead of newton is unbelievable. If there is an appreciation thread for newton we should have one for 1/3rd of the list.

Till Newton bags a 8 plus goal game he's nothing but another young player with potential. I wana start a "Juice overrarted thread"

Like **** you do.

Get back in your box. Newton is God around these parts and will remain so until he chooses otherwise.

Tell Chunk to come back when hes driving a brand new Toyota. ;)

You will do nothing of the sort. Young kids these days just don't appreciate a hero when they see one. Pfft.

As an outsider, gotta say you got yourself a real gem there. Hard at it, clearly passionate about the club and even though opposition, i just love watching the way he goes about it. Definitely one of my faves not wearing the (all)navy blue
