Shore things?
North Shore are looming as a threat at the top of the ladder after a hard fought win over Balmain at Drummoyne in their round 14 Sydney AFL clash last weekend.
North Shore coach Simon Wilson was especially pleased, as Balmain was one of the sides that beat the Bombers earlier in the season.
The Tigers put in a vastly improved effort from their previous encounter, which was a positive for Tigers’ coach Troy Luff:
“We lost the game, North Shore didn’t win it.” Said Luff after the game. “We made some really basic errors. Some of the guys got showed up at this level. It was a frustrating and disappointing day.”
The Tigers have now lost their last three games at home.
St George put on a devastating second quarter to blow away the East Coast Eagles at Olds Park. The Crows kicked eleven goals to two to effectively wrap the match up by half time.
Campbelltown had a better result in the second game in two weeks at Gore Hill, coming away as winners over an injury depleted Pennant Hills, who are missing 23 of their top 50 players at the moment.
The Gore Hill surface, already pretty dusty, gets a pounding this week with Pennant Hills and North Shore doing battle on both Thursday night (which is the Round 5 catch up game) and Sunday.
On Friday night the Bulldogs dominated on the scoreboard despite the young Redbacks’ side bringing the ball forward without being able to capitalize on their opportunities.
