View Full Version : Bad luck Gavin

Through my work as a journalist on a small country newspaper I often have to take photos at football clinics.
Joyfully this morning I attended a clinic at a local school to find Gavin Colville of the Woodville West Torrens Eagles was there.
Now being the loyal Doggies supporter that I am, I suggested to Gavin that Saturday's four point loss must have been a real heartbreaker.
What joy! I almost saw the tears trickle down his face.
No not quiet, Gavin was well composed and said it was a bit disheartening.
Being deep in West Adelaide territory he might have thought I was being at least a little sympathetic - the thought that I was a Centrals supporter jibing him a little probably never crossed his mind.
He's actually a very quietly spoken person is Gavin Colville.
Good luck to him and the Eagles for the rest of the season, but I think we've got bigger fish to fry - Norwood and Sturt.
There might actually be some opposition supporters at the GF this year.
Go Dogs.

If you had mentioned the shot he missed in the last term you may have got a bigger reaction - like a punch in the mouth, or being told to f*ck off. No question the better side lost on the day.

You must be a real loyal doggies fan - especially not to be wearing any club colours to a footy clinic!!!.

You'd be hoping we do not come up against you in the finals
Cheers

Yes, well I suppose professionally I could wear a guernsey and football shorts to a clinic. Eddie, not all of us live in our gear.
My car, just in front of which the photo was taken, is plastered with CDFC stickers.
By the way, the only Doggies paraphanalia I wear to work is my tie - and I only wear that onMonday's after a win. So I've been wearing it a bit of late!
By the way, this is a question, not a sledge, what are the Eagles going to bring out in the finals that is going to threaten the top three sides? Be interested to see what you think.
By the way, it's great to see Josh McLoughlan doing well in his second stint at the club.

A Centrals supporters owning a tie, (not talking the thin black leather ones for appearances in the docks) - please..........

Actually this was the exact way I was implying you should have been showing your true colours

I wear my eags tie to work

yes mcloughlan looks alright - only seen him against norwood a few weeks back

finals - you'll have to wait & see. A forward line is something that has been missing in our recent grand finals.

Hentschell & Bock - whilst still very young have shown they can kick a few goals. At least they look dangerous.

Anything can happen on the day.
