Great article indeed. I just finished reading it in the paper.
Also the decision not to bring in Streets means that Hudson will be our number 1 ruckmen with Minson as backup. So it looks like Hudson and Minson will be swapping between ruck and Full forward, which to me is very exciting. I have seen quite a few games where Hudson takes big strong graps down in the forward line and the thought of seeing him do that for us, along side Minson is really great.

Now that is better than having Street and Hudson ruck all day while Minson sits in the goal square.
Having one less ruckmen and rotating two through full forward and ruck sounds great :thumbsu:

That does not excite me. Hudson has kicked 6 goals in his career. If Minson has to ruck(which he now will) then Hudson has to go to the bench and we need to pull out the midget forward line again. At least we know how that works.

Sounds like a team with massive structural problems to me. Great:thumbsu:

That was a great read, it all sounds positive, but the only thing that matters now is Sunday.
I hope Stephen Tiller is alright too.

I would rather have two ruckmans on the field then have one on the bench taking up space and not allowing us to bring in another quality player.

Agreed:thumbsu:
And regarding Hudson only kicking 6 goals in his career to me sounds like he has been starved of oppertunities up forward. I dont think i have ever seen him play as a forward, rather he just floats down there when his side has the ball and are surging forward. If he actually sits in the goal square while Minson does the ruck work then i think Hudson can get quite a few goals for us ;).

Some of Rohan's best work
Loved it:thumbsu:
Awesome read. I do think Hudson will go on the bench more that up forward to get a proper rest

Street wouldn't do 50% of the ruckwork so having him when we have Minson does nothing

It's just frustrating. I agree Minson is a better ruckman then Street. And in a perfect world we could have Hudson number 1 and Minson number 2 and a full time full forward. But rotating your full forward out and in and out and in is just wallpapering cracks. Of course if we had a full forward all the problems would be solved.
In saying that, we have proven in the past that we can still win games with a midget forward line. When Minson moves into the ruck, then Welsh should move to FF and Hudson should take a break on the bench. As he'll be needed to ruck 70-80% of the time anyway. Can't ask him to spend 100% TOG. No ruckman in the league does that and hasn't for about 20 years.

Agreed:thumbsu: If we want Hudson on the ground all the time he won't last
Why not change it up occasionally?

I can't help feeling there will be changes in the team that takes the field tomorrow. If not in composition then certainly in structure. I think Wight is looked upon by the coaching staff as a spare parts tall. He can play CHF, CHB, Ruck, Wing and I suspect he may get a turn at each before the game is over. Not picking McDougall, then bringing him in as an emergency when Tiller became ill also suggests there may be still question marks over Lake fitness, though I hope this is not the case.
Sorry Fred I didn't see this when I posted the same.
