I beleive none of this without a creditable source.
Would be a shame to see a very good player go down so early in the season.

Have they done a scan yet? Can they be 100% sure until it's done? Bummer.

Believe it, I don't post on this website forum very often these days.
I don't post lies!
Essendon recovering well without him in the 2nd Qtr.

That's f**ked! Hopefully Gumbleton can stay injury free, come in and hopefully fill the void whilst Scotty is injured.

No you can't be sure. He did fall awkardly, but did get up shortly after. The initial question was if it was knee or ankle! He did fully weightbear coming off, and remained on the sideline afterwards. All of which pushes clinically towards a grade II or III injury, not a complete rupture. But, as you say, we can't tell until the formal MRI tomorrow.

The incident had Aaron Hamill written all over it. He never played again after that. I hope so so its not the case with Scott. He's a very important player for us.

Geez, don't put that on us. lol.
The pressure will be firmly on Courtney Johns to come into the side and perform now.

Heres hoping it is not too bad then. Can't help but expect the worse though.
Terrible news. Hopefully someone steps up.

The Bombers have released an official estimation of 6 - 10 weeks. It will depend of course on the extent of the damage.

Gumby would be handy. How long until he returns?

Damn this is real bad news.
Lloydy will have to kick lots of goals today for us to win it.

And for the next few weeks also. Really need Laycock to step up too

Hamill did his knee trying to inflict as much pain by kneeing Steve Johnson.
He got what he deserved.
Scotty Lucas did it in a fair contest. Hopefully it's only the 8 weeks.

Gumby would be handy right now. Still can be a great opportunity for Gumby when he returns in round 3.
Don't forget Neagle who might now get a chance.

He won't be ready for seniors in round 3.
johns is a gun

neagle and gumbleton are still recovering from injury so if anyone has to replace lucas it will be courtney johns.
i was standing behind the players today at the game and these 2 blokes went up to johns and shook his hand and then they started saying lucas is out for 12 weeks its time you steeped up to the plate ha he wasnt so happy after that.
Dont worry guys I bet Scotty will come back against us in Round 12 at the Dome and he'll probably kick his usual 7 goals a quarter vs us LoL ;)
chins up - we may have lost youngster Mark LeCras for the year too so bad news everywhere :thumbsd:

Yeah it's not ideal, but we'll get on with it.
I hate seeing Lloyd up the ground, that's just my personal opinion.
He needs to playing at Full-Forward leading out, getting back to one on one contests in which he will win at least 50%
With Lucas gone, now Lloyd will be forced back and with NLM and McPhee at half forward I really see this as a blessing in disguise.
There's no point in looking at the negatives!
One word on the Lucas injury: Shit!

True. I should've been more specific, Bendigo in round 3.

Really? Didn't notice him getting hurt the other night. Hope it's not as bad as you say because I reckon he's on the brink of establishing himself as a pretty good player.

Whilst I'm shattered about Lucas being out for so long. I'm also happy (Trying to - into a +) in a way that this will provide someone else with a chance to step up.
It maybe Johns, Neagle or Gumby when they're match fit, NLM or McPhee or even Lovett who I think is an excellent mark for his size with good goal sense and so on and on......

Will be getting his ankle cleaned up as well in the 12 weeks off. The ankle was dodgy coming into the season.
Looking on the bright side, when he comes back we will be getting a fully fit Scotty for the first time in about four years.

This just made the Gumby injury even more disapointing. Gumby should have 5-6 games of seniors where he will be fully fit and able to take on the true CHF role (if he is up to it).
its dissapointing that he will be out.
he has been so good for us these last few years.
hopefully lloydy will stay in the forward line,he wasnt there when we needed him all the time today.
i dont like it when he is up the ground.
just please dont let johns in.
he just never does well.
he drives me crazy.

I was at centre wing, right in front of the race, and Scotty got up almost immediately after coming off and limped up the race. My heart sank, and at half time, the commentators on the ABC said he'd be gone for 10 to 12 weeks. He's my favourite player, and I'm just gutted. :(

What a massive blow for the Bombers. Hopefully he can come back and play some good footy in the second half of the year.
