Pretty good, although if Slattery is playing, id like to see him go against S. Johnson, Nash on Stokes and Rama hopefully playing loose.

I like those match ups - would be good. Do you think Houli is up to it though? Think we will like that one if we get it!
Scarlett Vs Lloyd - two legends head to head

I reckon Paddy Ryder would do well on Mooney.

i think if hille and laycock can take control off ottens and blake/west to get the ball to our midfielders it will make coach thomson change his match ups and thats what we want. geelong dont tag, they just play there own game so getting them out of that style will go along way to us winning or atleast gving it a real shake.

Thompson reckons otto is 50/50
Yeah i read that too.
He also went on to say that he was in no hurry to bring him back, he said that it would be a different story if it was midway through the season but given that it was only round two he wasn't all that worried.

I'd love to see McVeigh line up next to Ablett, not to tag but play his normal game and see how Ablett would handle it.

Playing on a star like Ablett could teach Houli a few more things. It certainly would do no harm to his future performances, to learn from one of the best. To learn to be accountable for such a great player, and to get a few possesions himself, might not see Houli star but I believe he would tackle the challenge with great enthusiasm.

you've forgotten one of their best players in chapman who has destroyed us in the past. slattery looks a decent matchup on him. don't think rooke is playing at present
slattery - chapman
mcphee - milburn
nlm - hunt
mcveigh - ablett.
ryder - mooney
fletcher - johnson (although fletch may play forward) but in his absence then nash i agree.

Houli vs Selwood
Houli vs Selwood
My thoughts too. No way houli will line-up on Ablett/Bartel he will get Selwood/Kelly/Corey.
Also think Ryder gets Mooney/Hawkins with Fletcher to run off Gamble.
Do we bring in a tall for Lucas like Neagle or a small utility like Monfries and try and use NLM and McPhee through CHF with a ruckman resting in the pocket?

What exactly is Ling doing then?
Ling -> Jobe
Enright -> Stanton
the big problem will be Davey

Well that will free 2 of our players up.
As far as Geelong is concerned the main players they should really look at are Lloyd, McVeigh, Watson, Stanton and Fletcher. Watson and McVeigh should be targeted because we lack depth in the clearance department and the others are self explanitary.

Winders will play this weekend surely and i think Dyson is going to get dropped for maybe even tate pears. So it releases Ryder forward. That would change match kp match ups a fair bit.
Fletcher to take lucas' possition like he did in the last quarter. (would be awesome to watch up until the point where i cringe everytime it goes long anywhere near their forward line.
What exactly is Ling doing then?
Ling -> Jobe
Enright -> Scarlett
the big problem will be Davey
spot on DanA. Ling won't get Stanton based on last week's form. He'll start on either Jobe or possibly Spike.

seriously hoping that otto is out:confused:
that way blake will not stand a chance against hille and laycock, hes still developing.
If Otto is out thats a massive loss for us, and i dont think he will play, very doubtful he wont be rushed in.
Houli should not get Ablett as some said, Ablett would destroy him, dont get me wrong, Houli's my fav dons player cose i played with him for years, i just dont think hes up to it yet, one day though. Him on Selwood would be interesting.
Should be a really good game this week, but missing Otto is huge advantage to you, Blake and West were smashed last week i thought, they will have to step up last weeks performance for us to win i believe.

I'm perplexed that Essendon fans are suggesting Fletcher going with Gamble. I can see the benefit of Fletcher coming over the top of Hawkins but then you leave a smart little crumber free. If it was working for Essendon too, I'd think you'd see Gamble try drag Fletcher out to the flanks/midfield and Geelong putting Chapman deep. Fletcher would either be out ran on the flank or have to man up on a Chapman. I don't see how Fletcher can play well and stop Gamble from kicking goals.
i was (seriously but half as a joke) about to suggest fletcher might get chapman then i realised we got rid of sheedy... its still taking some getting used too.
go knighter!
