Is anyone else pissed off at the fact we have to buy NFL branded gear this year... The socks are shithouse. Thin as anything and way too long, you could tuck your balls into them. Im yet to see the shorts but having to fork out $60 for 2 pairs which the club makes bugger all profit on is a joke.

 If you are paying $60 for 2 pairs of shorts, you club has a mark up of approx 60%. I'd say thats profit.

P.S. we are not impressed with the compulsory changing of the merchandise as it is costing clubs big $$. Clubs were guaranteed that they would not be invoiced prior to mid April with 30 day terms, however invoices have already been sent with COD terms (but will allow 30 days). If evey club purchased jumpers, shorts & socks, for seniors and juniors, they would be up for almost $100 per player COD at the very beginning of the season.

I doubt there would be many clubs in the position to fund these purchases in March? This has not be thought out thoroughly and was not discussed with clubs prior to the signing of the sponsorship contract!!

There will more than likely be clubs without gear prior to the season start. Check with your clubs.

Monty are selling their shorts for $50 for 2 so Mernda must be making some profit.

Im not in a position to know about markup but I think its ~$60 for 2 pairs of the shorts. I haven't brought mine as yet. Price isn't the major issue but the fact that they are forcing players to wear them and the quality is shithouse.

spot on grass-is-greener. i have heard from some clubs that they dont anticipate getting all their ordered gear until a couple of weeks into the season. and what profit is the nfl administration making from this cosy arrangement?

You will find that the shorts are $20 a pair, thats what was on the order form..
So clubs charging more than that are making a handy profit

$20.00 Plus GST make $22.00 so for $25.00 there is $3.00 profit.
Wow now I know how Monty can afford to pay Kingy so much money. :D
