indeed I am a parkside legend but im not the great kotoski
Oh ok. Parkside was the strong side there for while. You said you hated lagging dogs, right? Well, you must have hated your club back a few years ago when Parkside made a club report against A. Bugeja for striking.
Perhaps you'd like to change your definition of 'dog' now?
Just for the record, if a club feels it has to make a report for a 'dog' act that has been missed by the Umpires, then so be it. Snipers and the masters of the 'king hit' should be taken out of the game for good.
Double standards don't work mate. Give the 'lagging dogs' call a rest because in your eyes, Parkside now qualify as 'lagging dogs.'

Look's like some-one has blown your cover,i was told the same thing a while back, speaking of lagger's you went from Darkside to Copper's Crossing,so how can you bag.
Not so long ago Cinderella Man but you back in your box about Parkside's lack of ticker,i think it's time you jumped back in it Georgie Boy.
You seem to bag parkside a fair bit whats wrong did you get a few belts over the years & cant get over it ?

You may be right about the Logan case but you're wrong about Bugeja. It's that simple. Remember which year and ground? Many had a good laugh over Parkside, of all clubs, crying foul over an on field incident and then laying a report.
Come on champ, mate, buddy, pal, superstar.......no need to name call. Goose just doesn't have the same impact after it's been over used. Do you have a short cut to it on your keyboard?

I know i am getting way off the topic here:
Altona v Yarra/sedd (Altona by 42 points- few VFL boys back maybe)
Orden v Hoppers (Hoppers by 102 points)
Colts v West (colts by 137 points)
Spotty v Albion (spotty by 16 points)
St Albans v Kangas (kangas by 22 points)
Sorry to disrupt the topic of conversation set over the last couple of pages.
Enjoy the weekend of football boys.

About the granny in 03, gotta give you that one. I honestly think that Spotty did well to get that close. Parkside were damn good that year.
As for who made the report, couldn't tell you but I don't think it was the time keeper or the orange cutter.
Before anyone accuses me of changing my tune, read carefully. Never said that Parkside weren't a quality side, my comments regard a club report incident and thinking it was a bit rich.

No problem. Spotty versus Parkside at Spotty in 2004. Bugeja irons out a Parkside player. Don't remember who the Parkside bloke was because I didn't know a lot of them. If you have a chat to the blokes who were around the club then, they could tell you who it was.
I don't have an issue with clubs making reports if it is warranted. However some have to be careful of labeling others as laggers and dogs, especially when they can't be certain that their own club is an exception.

Ok, it was a comment meant to explain that if a club lays a report for an incident that involves a coward sniping or king hitting from behind, then they are right to do so. I can't comment on whether the report regarding Logan's broken jaw was warranted or Spotty were just 'lagging'... because I don't know a lot about it.

Ill tell you what happened i was 10 metres away logan hit the player in question first then the player knocked him straight out the ball was at the other end & spottswood fc laid the report so dont go labelling parkside laggers
As for the other incident not enough information in 2004 at parks there was an all in just before half time when steve savalas nearly knocked bugeja out. bugeja was seen with blood pouring out of his beek talking to the umpires after the fight gees i wonder what he was telling the umpires ?

when logan got knocked out the person that did it went up to bugja and hold him that he was next the poor bloke went white, so I doubt it that bugja threw a punch he's a coward

Missing - Albion players and supporters. Cameron Barker is a class player and Dorwood tried hard all day whilst Coach Savalas set the example before the 2nd half bounce by dropping a Spotty player in the centre of the ground. During his 15 minutes off the ground Spotty kicked 5 to one. On his return he sulked in the fwd pocket for the remainder of the game as Spotty, playing disciplined football recorded a 104 point victory. Round 10 should be interesting with the top 6 playing each other. Spotty travel to Hoppers Crossing, Port Melbourne Colts to Sunshine and StAlbans to Albion. Might sort a few things out ??

I must have been umpiring another game because I umpired that grand final and can't remember bugjeja complaining at all. The fact the ball was down the other end probably didn't help because generally we only worry about the play, which is what we get paid for, not settling incidents of thugs. If the club reported it, personally the guy that sniped got what he deserved. Interesting how we always go back to the past when things aren't going our way.......
Hope everyone in the WRFL are well. Missing the standard of footy.
All the best

Was only a matter of time until the bubble burst. And from the scoreline it has burst hard.
Albion's only problem has been their discipline. Hopefully they can sort it out because they look like a good side to challenge this year.

I believe the Logan incident you are refering to was at Parkside right in front of the clubrooms?
SFC did not lay the charge , Terry O'Donnell umps advisor was on the fence 3 mtres away, he did I believe.
rock07 you where right about what you said regarding the game spotty V albion keep butina to two goals and albion don't have really any major goal scorers well they did that and we got smashed spotty played fantastic footy harris had a lazy 51 touches B.O.G and cracker's kicked a lazy 6 from CHF! it's killing me not been able to play!!!!!! how'd you go?

Well spotty our a great outfit, but no doubt this will do the cats the world of good. As i said when you have a loss you have a look at areas your team are little weak and you can work on certain things. Albion are a good team and i'm sure they will bounce back.
As for how i went, got 6 in the first half but didn't kick a sniff in the second, but we had a great team perfomance kicking 42 goals, the boys really shared the ball well, the games against bottom teams canget hard as players start becoming selfish but over the last few weeks the boys are playing well as a team.
Looking fwd to the break now and a chance to rest the old body.
When you back???

42 goal's not bad as for me should be back after the break not sure if i'll have a run in the magoo's or go straight back in but after yesterday you would think maybe stairght back in? i have never missed so many game's before very keen to get back in to it
FOOTYSTAR, could you give us a run down on the match?
Harris having a whopping 50 touches just shows what a class act he is. Was anybody not tagging him???
Some big games after the break spotty/hoppers should be a classic and with the boys from hogans rd back in form, i think they will push spotty all the way and at home mite just get the points.
ST.ALBANS/ALBION will be another classic and like hoppers the saints are in very good form, the cats will be under pressure for the first time to win a game to hold top spot, so let's see how they respond to a loss. Good sides respond so let's just see how this unfolds.
COLTS/SUNSHINE will be another great game and although the kangas are not inform they will be looking to get their season back on track and in the home and away season have a good record against us so, so it should be a tough game.

Great display of hard running and pressure footy by the boys yesterday, dont think albion had a winner anywhere on the ground. harris had the ball on the string and we had to many scoring options up forward which the same couldnt be said for albions forward line. Albion started well and where still close at half time but after there coach got sent off at the start of the third for a cheap shot they did not put up a fight. If albion where tagging harris the bloke should get a new job cause he was no where to be seen. I also told richie your advice and it must of worked he kicked 3.3

Don't think it was a punch Bale. However cowards have also been known to kick, elbow, snipe, king hit and knock blokes out. So I don't think that being a tough nut is the only pre-requisite for putting someone on a stretcher.
Toe to toe punch ups, putting your head over the footy and a good hip and shoulder are good measures of toughness or bravery. The other stuff is for cowards.

I hear that the bloke who copped the cheap shot didn't play a bad game after that. He must have had the cobwebs rattled out by the shot and should have bought the coach a beer after the game.
Are you sure Harris got 50 touches? Has he got a personal statistician or does count them himself?

The last month has been quite disappointing. There was a smashing from Albion, a win against Altona (in the wet kicking 10 goals 20 points), a defeat from hoppers and then the loss on the weekend by two points hurt.
The break has come at a good time to rest up some sore bodies and get some injured players back up and running.
At the moment, the twos are flying along which is great. Up to 10 senior and Solid reserve players to come back within the next two weeks which is only going to make the twos stronger again.
Enjoy the break.

Well done to spotty.
I have just left star bar and have been with ke;m and my old mate dicko.
KELM is a fu cking ledgend one of the nicest blokes i have met in footy and the young fellow can play always has a crack and will only get better, i think he will be with werribee next season if he is interested and mite even go higher.
As for dicko the bloke is a gun on and of the field, but he does need to stop the solariums....fu ck he loves himself for a sunshine boy....hahahhhaha

yes, well... spotswood are definiatly going to be the team to beat. they had everything on the weekend, speed, strength, fitness, you name it!
harris was everywhere, also kelly and o'keefe dominated as well. after half time they demoralised us!
there is a lot of things we need to work on down at the cattery, and I hope when we have a crack at them again in round 18 we have improved some what significantly and can have a good challenge, the weekends display I don't believe was a true indication of where we are at, at the half way mark, taking nothing from spotswood though, they were very very good!

We had our first bad day. The boys regrouped yesterday at our sportsmans day and rebonded last night.
Spotty were on fire. We kept with them in the second quarter but then lost it when Steve was sent off.
Well done to Aaron Tymms he didn't give up all day. I would think he got BOG for Albion.

went to see spotty v albion on weekend and confirmed what i and alot of others on here think. albion are simply no good away from home. i cant see them finishing in the top 3 as they play colts, hoppers and sunshine all away, and them 3 teams are the hardest "road trips" in the wrfl id think.
as for the game, spotty were brilliant and i believe are miles ahead of any other team in the comp. they had a few vfl listed players playing, who will only be one game wonders, but still there best players were all guys who play reguraly in the seniors. harris was good, didnt think he had 51 touches, but wont go against the radio stats guy ;). keenan is just so strong on the lead and doesnt drop to many marks. thought a young guy who played wing/hf was brilliant. his name escapes me at the moment.
as for albion, very undisciplined in the second half especially. what was steve savalas thinking....absolutely stupid and not a good example as coach of the footy club when ur under the pump to do something stupid like that is utterly unnacceptable. maybe he thought he was still playing at parkside and could bash whoever he wanted whenever he wanted?? :S
couple of noticeble absentees from the game, none bigger than number 9 for albion knezevic or whoever u spell it and none bigger than mangan from spotty. can anyone tell me whats wrong with these guys and when they will be back??
all in all albion are not a contender this year thats for sure. spotty have one hand and 4 fingers on the cup...

after the 2 point lose on the weekend don't write off sunshine, it was disapointing to lose after having lead all day. hopefully our second half of the season can push us back into finals contention. After albion lost on the weekend I don't think they have what it takes to be top 3, they smashed us by 15 goals on a bad performance yet we have a team that can easily beat spotswood!!!
i think the ladder will be port, spotty, sunshine, hoppers, albion at the end of the season
spotty- they look hot/cold but still show that they are going to be good, and come finals there is no better team
port- a great team, probably our biggest challenge for the flag along with every other sides
sunshine- we will start to find our feet over the second half of the year and really give the ladder a shake
hoppers- can beat or lose to any of the five competative teams, just depends on their day
albion-looked good early, alot of away matches i can only see them betting the bottom 4 sides to finish the year.
Stalbans- just out, even though they got the 4 points, their was a umpire decisions that were costly in the final score plus we didn't really benefit from all our opportunities. They are a good side and will be stiff to miss finals.
can anyone agree with this?

after the 2 point lose on the weekend don't write off sunshine, it was disapointing to lose after having lead all day. hopefully our second half of the season can push us back into finals contention.

I am just interested in what umpiring decision you are referring to.
it was a good game and it was a massive win from St Albans perspective seeing that we didnt have a bench after half time.

Umpires were ordinary, st.albans were brave, we just butchered the ball too much up forward and didn't play smart enough, however full credit to our blokes never stopped trying. Free kick count in the first half St Albans 19 Sunshine 2 it finished on 29-12. Full credit to St Albans though, can be a very dangerous side come second half of the year.

went to see spotty v albion on weekend and confirmed what i and alot of others on here think. albion are simply no good away from home. i cant see them finishing in the top 3 as they play colts, hoppers and sunshine all away, and them 3 teams are the hardest "road trips" in the wrfl id think.
as for the game, spotty were brilliant and i believe are miles ahead of any other team in the comp. they had a few vfl listed players playing, who will only be one game wonders, but still there best players were all guys who play reguraly in the seniors. harris was good, didnt think he had 51 touches, but wont go against the radio stats guy ;). keenan is just so strong on the lead and doesnt drop to many marks. thought a young guy who played wing/hf was brilliant. his name escapes me at the moment.
as for albion, very undisciplined in the second half especially. what was steve savalas thinking....absolutely stupid and not a good example as coach of the footy club when ur under the pump to do something stupid like that is utterly unnacceptable. maybe he thought he was still playing at parkside and could bash whoever he wanted whenever he wanted?? :S
couple of noticeble absentees from the game, none bigger than number 9 for albion knezevic or whoever u spell it and none bigger than mangan from spotty. can anyone tell me whats wrong with these guys and when they will be back??
all in all albion are not a contender this year thats for sure. spotty have one hand and 4 fingers on the cup...
I totally agree with you Albion are pretenders. But I feel for Zavalas Ive got no doubt that idiot holding the white board gets in his ear, I thought Steve was better than that. back2back here we come.

Both teams were very brave and either could have piched it in the end and it was a game full of mistakes but i think that alot had to do with the pressure on the ball carrier. I just dont think Sunshine have found a right balance yet and players like Linton and Connors were getting moved around everywhere and were finding it hard to get into the game, i think these 2 players are the barometre for Sunshine.

Well pete i do know what i'm talking about...i think...very drunk atm.
I'm gone no wonder the missus makes me stay home.

I don't believe spotty are miles ahead they are the most talented, but very very beatable as we and sunshine have proved.
Albion will bounce back, but it will be tough for them to hold on to that top 3 spot a win against st.albans in two weeks is a must.

dont know if savalas was reported. i suggest he should of been. ive seen most teams play now and im sorry to burst ur bubble rock but spotty are clearly the best side, most talented, most versatille and if u could bet on the wrfl flag race they would be short priced favourites and id be having a quiet bit on them. but you are rite, anything can happen in footy as sunshine proved by touching up spotty a few weeks ago. i think ur wrong about albion bouncing back...they are an ordianary side, stop buttina and u stop their score. cant see them winning to many more but will still finish 4 i believe. the final 5 as i see it will be

They have a great on ball brigade but versatillity is something they lack in my opinion, but no doubt the team to beat. As i have said though this port colts side is the best team i have coached also with many options up fwd{ winters still yet to play} the two best ruckmen in the comp and now with howse we have better depth in the midfield and a very very solid defense led by bonnett and taylor.
I'm a betting man and my money although it mite be biased would be on the colts and much better value for money if you have spotty so short.
I also think hoppers are getting it together and will be much better in the second half and will knock spotty off in rd 10...just wait and see.
Now that everybody has seen each other once who do you reckon would be in the interlleague team if it was to be chosen. This is mine:

F: Turner Keenan Buttina
R: Julier Hollow O'Keefe

D.jacobs has played in the centre and has kicked 20 goals, has not played at half fwd.
Hoath has maily played wing or deep fwd and obviously in the ruck, but could play anywhere as with d.jacobs.
Mcgregor has had a great first half and will only get better, but i think b.jacobs should be in this side would be leading our bnf he is getting better with age and a great leader, also les taylor is stiff but is har to get everyone in.

only half way through the year so favouritism is irrelevent at this stage, in 05 we lost to st albans by 96 pts in the 2nd half of the yr and still won the flag so i wouldn't write albion after 1 loss
spotty probably are the team to beat but all they did on the weekend is prove that you have to be on yr game for 4 quaters to beat them
so far this yr we have seen upsets which proves everyone is capable but if your slightly off you will get beat, i think it is set up for an exciting 2nd half of the yr

good effort with the team...its a hard thing to do and i think uve given it a good crack.
Id have Buttina at Full Forward, not that its a big deal, but id have Keenan at FP. Buttina has been dominant forward and deserves the FF spot. dunno about Hoath at CHF, then again noone else has put their hand upto play there. Zavalas doesnt deserve to be in the side, he has hardly been in the best for albion and there are alot better players available for the back half. (noticed Hoppers crossing have the best defence in the league, none of there backman could squeeze in there, im not sure of any names except taylor and probably couldnt have him in their)
Fitzpatrick FB?? dunno about that maybe CHB, but he looks susseptable at FB. probably have Mangan there.
couple of points, there should be an interleague team, its ridiclous there isnt. other leagues do it, why cant the WRFL. wonder how the WRFL best would go against say the NFL or EDFL interleague squads?? anyone prepared to back the WRFL? i wouldnt.
and was thinking about the preseason when we all put our bets down for the Goalkicking winner and Comp medal. i had money on Hollow for the league medal and keenan for goal kicking. if the odds had to be done again what would they be?
Goal Kicking:
Kennan $1.90
Buttina $3.50
Others: $10
Comp Medal:
Hollow: $6.50
Hoath: $8.00
B.Murphy:10
Kelly:$15

Conspiracy theory. Spotswood players on the juice.
Date : 25/05/2008
Time : 1900 hours
Place : Maclean Reserve The Avenue Spotswood.
A white delivery van entered the reserve and parked at the rear of the club rooms. Two men in white lab coats proceeded to unload boxes of an unknown substance.
Players warmed down and then filed into the home team change rooms. The green door was locked, the blinds were closed, and the ground lights were turned off. All was silent except for the sound of boxes opening.
What occurred in the rooms over the next 45 minutes was a mystery. One theorist suggests that the players may have consumed the contents of the boxes. Another theorist suggests that the players were meditating. Most theorists really don’t care.
As players left the rooms to go home, one interested passer by noticed that the skin on most players took on an orange- like colour. It was also reported that some players had pieces of what looked like the pulp of an orange stuck in their ears and hair. Other players were reported to smell like pineapple, mango and tropical crush. Two high profile players looked as though their skin had been dyed maroon. They smelt like berries.
*Breaking News*
A WRFLConspiracy.com double agent has now confirmed that Spotswood received delivery of ten spa baths at 0100 hours on the Morning of the 24/05/2008. These spa baths were filled with the mystery contents of the boxes before the players entered the rooms on the 25/05/2008. Players soaked in the contents for up to five minutes each. Further intelligence suggests that Spotswood players have been consuming this substance since they were born. Damn cheats! The agent was late coming forward with the intelligence and will be dealt with accordingly. Punishment will entail watching WRFL Division Two reserves. Albion’s spy ‘Eagle Eye’ failed to report back anything of real value. He has been sacked and was last seen forward scouting for Hoppers Crossing Auskick.

GOLD!!! Love your work!!
A few Albion supporters were complaining about the Williamstown listed players playing for spotswood, to clarify there was only 1 jackson Barling.
The HF/wing that escaped someone is Chris O'keefe absolute gun one of the best recruits of the year if not the best. Good to see Steve Zavalas doing what he does best loosing his cool, very silly. I've heard he has been reported and is on 12 weeks already could be in trouble. Good to see Stephen Puhar back to the form that saw him grab team of the year honours last year.

Id throw brett jacobs in there, his on fire this year and chris brannan.
O`Keefe would have to be one of the best recruits so far, havent seen Hollow yet but spoke to a Spotty player and he said they held when they played him. Who do you tag for Spotty Harris or O`Keefe both big possesion getters and goal kickers.
Albions weakest line is there backline too small Zavalas has to push back in to backs help to much which dries up there run out of there. Turner is good to watch very competive.

Your right in who do you tag they both win a lot of the ball and do some damage on the score board. Brett Jacobs has been one of the quiet achievers of the league. People who know there footy would agree very well respected great player and if Colts got up last year in the granny would most likely have taken out the herb pascal medal, he has been the same even through juniors. Would like to see Brannan be a little more consistant good set of hands and when on works hard on the lead.
i think Albion have been playing one style of footy and on the weakend they didn't know how to adjust to a different styled opponent.

I have to take my hat off to spotty on the weekend they played all over the cats.Albion were to small going forward they need a big body down there.Every time albion won the ball in the back half spotty's pressure forced a turn over or when albion had time they kicked the ball to no one.The one weak chink i saw in the spotty armor that could play into a side like the colts hands is when savalas dropped the bloke no one even had a crack at him.Even the big boy jenson who was standing right there didnt even grab the blokes jumper all he did was lag to the umpire,so to me it looks like they dont play or feel for each other,it looks like they all they play for a cheque.Im not saying knock the bloke out but at least fly the flag just my veiw because i know if a colts or parkside bloke went down so would one of there's because at the end of the day they play for each other and thats what wins finals.

Altona are a long way off it. Although on the flip side they are a very young squad so if they keep there list together and maybe one or two key recruits, they will be aiming for finals in 2 or 3 years time

When Essendon lost one game in 2000 did we write them off? Geelong lost against to Collingwood do we write them off? The answer is no...
Albion look good this year and came up against a good side (a side which won the flag last year, mind you).
But think about this...
Albion play St Albans & Spotswood at home, the record so far is Albion don't lose at home... One would assume that Albion would continue that trend re St Albans (cats would be paying $1.70) and re Spotswood (personally I would still tip the cats but in a close one).
So if we say Albion wins against all of the bottom 4 (of course they may not but if they do) and they only lose to Port and Hoppers away this would place them in the top 3 (as they would have only been beaten 3 times).
The cats have their season set up and unless something dramtic happens one would think they have a major chance to be in the top 3 and a contender for the flag.
So can we write them off, not a chance! Go Cats!!! :thumbsu:

Or maybe Spotty were just too focused on winning the ball and kicked the living shizen out of Albion. Kicking goals wins finals, not wrestling on a half back flank. Why would Spotty get involved? They were tearing the pants off albion, and kept on thier merry way, so what savalas apparently done, did not phase spotty and they won easily. They also have a pretty decent idea of what wins finals. if your short term memory has gone, they did win the flag last year.....

I have to take my hat off to spotty on the weekend they played all over the cats.Albion were to small going forward they need a big body down there.Every time albion won the ball in the back half spotty's pressure forced a turn over or when albion had time they kicked the ball to no one.The one weak chink i saw in the spotty armor that could play into a side like the colts hands is when savalas dropped the bloke no one even had a crack at him.Even the big boy jenson who was standing right there didnt even grab the blokes jumper all he did was lag to the umpire,so to me it looks like they dont play or feel for each other,it looks like they all they play for a cheque.Im not saying knock the bloke out but at least fly the flag just my veiw because i know if a colts or parkside bloke went down so would one of there's because at the end of the day they play for each other and thats what wins finals.
shit that how u win flags
so who one last years?
thats right spotty and albions last one was?

So the bloke just laid there and no one went to Zavalas? What's going on there? Does anyone know what Steve did to the bloke? Anyone see it. Albion people need not reply, you're exempt.
If ive read right Steve done it just after half time didnt he the game was still in the balance, l think you should at least so some support. Or maybe it fuelled Spotty on. Im sure if Jensen was there he would have done something Rayzor any chance to enlighten us
altona with a good win on the weekend, still a few games out, with tyquin and scott bell back in the next few weeks, does anyone give us a chance on finals? a few upsets?

arguments been and gone just let it be ,the clubs building in its next phase were not looking back just forward and forward means forgetting about who could of been there and focusing on who is there, developing that into a winning list.

John w Gacy, was a dog that dressed as a clown and raped young boys, alot of them, to even use his name is a disgrace, let alone associate it with Port Colts footy club, something i guarantee your not apart of.
You should seriously have a look in the mirror using this as an alias......very disturbing for you, hopefully your only common thread with your alias is that you both hide behind a CLOWN suit.

Yeah Tyquin played all his junior footy at Hoppers.
Altona do have some talented kids coming through but they are all mid sized so for them to be pushing for finals in the next few years they will have to go out and recruit some quality key position players, which is easier said than done.

Go Cats!!! :thumbsu:
I think in general people write them off, expecting them to self destruct, and because they just don't like them. They would not want to many injuries and suspensions. The C Train goes down and all of a sudden they have no height in the forward line.
They have Hewitt back, so they have another onballer, but will not change the lack of height factor.
If any of the players or officials at the club have issue with being written off by subscribers to big footy, then you have to wonder how mentally tough they are as a club.
But good luck to them, winning form is good form, and they are well positioned to feature prominantly in finals, but again, finals are still 10 weeks away, and a lot will happen in that time, including players putting their hands out to be paid........

Albion have the WORST forward line of all 6 contending for the finals.
Buttina is the only good forward noone else has been dangerous...the so called c-train is the most overrated player in the leauge he cannot!! get a kick and when he does he lets everybody know about it. he didn't get a kick against us, either did the other forwards. buttina kicked 9 and he was the only other stand out. albion need to look OUTSIDE the leauge

To say ALBION have the worst forward line out of the contenders is rubbish.
The ladder shows they have kicked more than Hoppers, StAlbans and Sunshine. With Fenton to come back, who kicked about 60 goals last year, it is only going to get better.
Now sure how Sunshine's forward line will get any better?
Sunshine are quick to have themselves as a top 3 side, sitting outside the 5 now and will probably be the ones who miss out at seasons end if they lose this week.
Maybe time for a change of culture down at Kinder smith..
