As Freo have got more competitive it's a definite advantage; since 2002 it's been 8 out of 12 Derbies going to the away side.

2002: Both Home teams win
2003: Both away teams win
2004: Both away teams win
2005: Both home and away wins for WC
2006: Both home and away wins for Freo :)
2007: Both away teams win

Going by that we should win this week and lose later in the year.

It's obviously because the 'away' team didn't have to travel the week before. Therefore we should be at a slight advantage this week.

This stat would seem to negate the 'home crowd' factor. Or is it because the Eagles fans are so quiet it's like playing in front of an empty stadium? :p

I would agree with the travel issue, but the showdown is basically equal..... though there is a fair distance needed to be taken into account.

Its probably the opposite, all the abuse and savory snacks hurled from weevils fans gets J.Carr into a berserk frenzy, he then single handedly demolishes them - which gets me thinking, we need some people to donate their meat pies to the cause at Dockers home games - throw your precious snack at Josh when he's in the vicinity and go bananas at him and then watch him win the Docker's first Brownlow :D

Anyone know if the game will be shown live, or will we get some trucked-up excuse from the network and a delayed telecast??

It is live to us in the south IP but not sure about Perth.

Obviously live on Fox.

Haven't got a Freagle with a spare seat? ;)

That makes sense given the away side has played at home the week before.

Our record in the first derby is shithouse though, 2 and 11 if I recall correctly. :(

Hopefully the law of averages demands that evens up a bit ;)

we are favourites, believe it or not. We havent won anything this season and the bookies have more confidence in us. Not sure if thats a good thing or a kiss of death........

Tough game to tip with the Eagles being rubbish as well last week. At the minute I'm leaning towards us . . just.
