Talk about your drum kit, in as much or as little detail as you would like. I'll get the ball rolling.
Mine is a Tama Swingstar, deep wine red finish. It is approximately four years old; I bought it from a guy in Williamstown.
6"x 14" Tama snare, chrome finish
13", 14" rack toms
16" floor tom
20" bass drum
Cymbals:
Paiste 302 13" hi-hat
Paiste 302 18" crash
Zildjian K 22" dry ride (about 25 years old)
Zildjian 16" Medium crash
Paise 2002 10" splash
Sabian 8" splash
Paiste 302 20" ride (not in use)
I use a Yamaha double bass drum pedal. The cymbals are set up symmetrically with the two crashes mounted on boom stands on either side of the rack toms, and the two splashes mounted on extra boom arms clamped to the boom stands. All the other hardware is basically stock Tama hardware.
The 302s came with the kit. The two Zildjians I brought from the U.S., the 10" Paister splash I bought last time I was here, and the 8" Sabian was an online purchase (which I regret now because it is probably the worst sounding splash I've ever heard).
In addition to that, I have a second kit at home in the States, which is a Tama Superstar in an oak or maple finish that was around 10 years old when I acquired it in the late 80s.
6.5"x14" Ludwig Superphonic snare (1969)
12", 13", 14", 15" rack toms
16", 18" floor toms
Two 22" bass drums
My older brother and I co-owned this kit, and when he moved out we split it up. He bought new cymbals and a snare and made a 5 piece out of one half, while I was left with the other half. All the cymbals were Zildjians, and the two I brought with me come from this kit.

It will have to be in "little detail" for me as i don't know all that much about it....
It's an old mid-late 70's funky yellow Rodgers kit with an old (late 60's-early 70's) Ludwig snare. It sounds FANTASTIC! I bought it a couple of years ago. I couldn't even tell you what size the toms are as i'm not a "drummer", so to speak, and i only use it in the studio occasionally so i haven't put new skins on it since i bought it. (i did get new skins put on it when i got it, but i had a "drummer" friend do it. :D) It has 4 toms + the floor tom (2 of the toms are tiny but it's all matching and part of the original kit) and it has a 20in bass drum. (oh what i would do for a 26in bass drum!!!!!!! Matching yellow!!!!! Maybe i'm asking too much....)
Cymbals - 14in Paiste 2002 hats, 11in Paiste 2002 Splash, Sabian 16in crash, and a couple of old cymbals that i couldn't even tell you what they were. (i desperately need a decent ride cymbal..!!)
Once i get another nice crash or two, a good ride cymbal, and perhaps another smaller set of hats for a different sound, i'll have a pretty cool little kit.

Dude, you've got to tell me what is the best or best value sound module on the market?
I've got my heart set on a TD-8 Roland module, but am also open to the Alesis DM PRO.
Anyone out there that can give me some feedback?

Had to turn into a drum machine thread, didn't it.
Such are these times, I guess. Um...I like those old Linn drums.
The kit i play live is a Premier Artist Series i got earlier this year as part of my endorsement through Drumtek, thats DRUMTEK (529-535 High Street, Northcote, VIC) for those that didnt get it the first time!:D Best blokes in the world and they do awesome deals. Seriously, there is no better drum store in Australia!!
Anyway enough plugging the sponsors (that'd be DRUMTEK by the way) for now! Its a 6 piece, all birch kit. 10 x 8 and 12 x 9 rack toms, 14 x 14 and 16 x 16 floors, 22 x 18 kick and i either use the 14 x 5.5 birch snare or my rare-as-rocking-horse-sh*t Brady brown mallett 14 x 5 snare (only 6 ever made and friggen Virgil Donati has the other 5!!) depending on the room i'm playing. The whole kit is saphire blue (except the Brady snare which is chocolate brown) and i'm a very big fan of it.
Must admit i once didnt rate Premier drums but they have really lifted their game over the last few years in terms of quality and hardware etc. The ISO tom mounts are awesome. Very user friendly and they allow for really nice resonance and sustain of each hit. And the lugs are seperate low-mass with cusion plinths meaning minimum wood/metal contact. Very well thought out and manufactured kit.
I use all Sabian cymbals.
I use 14" hats, the top is a AA and the bottom is a AAX as i like the responsiveness and cut of the AA's but also lve the meatier, lower pitch of the AAX's, hence the combo. They work really well together, givingme a really versatile hats sound.
I have 2 10" splashes, one being a AAX which is set on an extention stand on my right above my floor toms and the other a Pro-Sonix which is mounted above my hats. Both have a really distinctive tone to them, with the AAX a lower pitch and the Pro Sonix a really sharp, cutting sound to it hence allowing for some really nice colour and shade, which is very important in terms of my playing.
I use an 18" AAX stage crash on my left and a 19" AAX dark crash on my right. The 18 is very rich and bright and cuts like a mutha****er and my 19 is a really warm and moody cymbal with a definate decay. They work really well together.
My ride is a 20" AA Rock ride with a beautiful big bright bell on it and nice, full bodied sticking which gives it real penetration and its ****en grouse!
I use a 17" AAXtreme china which is really raw and has amazing cut (mounted above my splash on my left) and 18" Pro Sonix China (mounted on my far right) which is a really trippy sounding cymbal. Real trashy bit still really direct and penetrating.
I use all Premier Hardware which is awesome stuff. Really sturdy and user friendly. Highly recommend it (and you can get it all at DRUMTEK :D)
I also have an Orange County tamborine mounted above my hats and a cowbell, which i reckon is older than i am, mounted on my kick drum.
My kick pedal is a Yamaha FP750, and i only use a single.
I play Vater Power 5A sticks and use Evans heads.
And i get all of these from DRUMTEK just in case you missed it!! :D
I also have an old Pearl Export practice kit which i brought in 94 and used live up until last year (yes GPhonque, was still playing that kit!! LOL!). Being an Export, its made of sh*t but i still managed to get a great sound out of it and am glad i've still got it. Same specs as my Artist Series except power size toms (depth).

Sound modules, I'm looking at triggering my acoustic kit for direct input recording. Easier instead of having to mic everything in the studio.
Regarding my real drum kit, it's a 5 piece DW Emerald Burst kit.
10" 12" 14" toms, 6.5X14" Snare, 22" Bass Drum.
Variety of decent & cheap cymbals. Zyldijan Medium Crash that is beautiful, cheap splash, a few other bits & pieces that i can't be bothered mentioning.
I'm not comfortable with my tom sizes, definitely want to add larget toms- unfortunately with ANYTHING DW the price tag is ridiculous!

Haha. That's cool, when i do gigs, not that i do gigs anymore, i'd still be using my Twin, Tele, and my Strat.......and my Rat! :) (although i bought a fantastic tiny little Fender Champ when i was in in LA a couple of years ago....(how rock does that sound? lol) .......the amp sounds awesome in the studio, but it's a bit small live, so we tried it anyway. There was no clean guitar sound that night!)

I bought mine second-hand 4 years ago on the same day that St Kilda lost the Grand Final (i still remember Molly Meldrum painting his fence, a classic!:D ).
Anyway, its a standard 5 piece white Dixon Tempo kit with new skins and a Pearl Cymbal kit including a 20" ride, 16" crash and a 14" hi-hat.
Very basic, but i had big dreams when i bought it. Looks quite nice, though.
Oh, i bought it at Billy Hydes!
