If Butts can't get it right by round 12 put him in cotton wool again.
Didn't we just re sign him for 2 years??
The next month should be young talent time, drop Hansen, Cox and Glass as they are injured. Give them a month off and reload just before the mid season break with fresh legs when other teams tire a bit.
If we can get 5-6 wins in a row around mid season THEN we can push hard to sneak into the 8, if not we continue playing the young guns and get 40-50 games into them ASAP.
Even if Butler gets over his OP he has been out for so damn long is he going to be right to play? When was the last time he played at AFL level? 2006? That's a long time to be out!
in his last game, butler has a 100% grand final winning record. we need him back.
i heard from a very reliable source butler will be playing in round 7.

we need to get these guys back on the park, but are they going to improve us to the point were we can play finals football this season??
In theory we should be able. we won 6 of the last 7 in 2007 home and away, then were extremely competitve in the two finals in which we were just beaten home. The only game Cousins or Judd had a major influence on was Cousins' comeback game against Sydney, although BC was pretty good in the rest of the games he played (i think he missed 3 or 4 IRC). Judd did nothing during that period.
So there's no reason this group of players can't be a competitive outfit.
The obvious problem is that we just aren't kicking goals.
Are we getting the ball forward enough?? I haven't seen the games and there's no inside 50 stats around, but with the amount of hit outs and possessions Kerr, Rosa and Priddis have been getting one would guess we are getting enough ball forward.
But Hansen and Lynch have been near on useless this year.
And why is Kenneddy not getting a gig?? The addition of Matt Spangher in front of him for the Swans game seemed very strange to me.... Having traded the most talented player the club's ever had for Kenneddy (and Masten) we'd want to know pretty quickly what were looking at.
The other thing is the loss of Mitch Brown for the season is another obvious blow. Not so much on our 2008 chances as i couldn't see him going from rookie to super star KPP in less than 24 months, but for the following reasons:
1 - not being able to return to his previous performances/ability.
2 - a desire to return home. I would say players get more homesick whilst injured than when they are playing
3 - if 2 occurs, his trade value is going to decrease majorly.

I want to see butler playing so badly. If we're frustrated imagine how he feels.
The physio I go to, who is alos the physio for one of the WAFL clubs and has reliable links with both the Dockers and the Eagles, told me that Le Cras has early stage OP which needs careful managing.
Hey have you guys had a training session this week?
If so how did Embly go?

He won't play, or if he does he'll be shit.
Add S. Selwood to your dreamteam though, he's due:thumbsu:

Hooray! Any news on whats going on with him? Ive heard rumors of Galandular fever, but then again, I dont believe them. Embers is one of my favourite plaers (from outside Essendon) and I just wanna see him on the park.

Worsfold said a problem with Embley's blood enzyme level had been pinpointed as the cause of the lethargy which the Norm Smith medallist complained of during the derby loss to Fremantle two weeks ago.
"We know what it was, and it is coming good, which is great. He will do a bit of training tonight, and be checked over tomorrow," Worsfold said.
"If he comes through OK he will play, or will be available to play.
"He felt very lethargic in the game against Fremantle and that is why the tests were done. He had no real energy at all. That was the symptoms that caused all the tests."

ANTI I am suprised how you stuffed up this piece of info. Buttler was on the interchange of the losing 2005 G/F team remember he didnt get a possesion the whole game. Anyways I agree we need him fit and firing but douptful that will happen this year so lets do a carlton and tank enough games to get Daniel Rich and then watch out next year the EAGS will storm on back.:)

I said "Fit and Fireing" Thats yet to be seen remember this is his first game back after 21 months so I expect Nothing out of him this week!
he will play like sh_t, get tackled alot with the ball, and probably a couple of out of bound on the full as well as easy turnovers while he is trying to get up with the pace of the game. Give him 4-5 weeks if he doesnt get injuried again and then he should be around where he is meant to be.
EXAMPLE: PRIDDIS 4th week back and still getting it right. His disposals are still a little off and he is still getting used to the pressure again but getting better every week.:thumbsu:
:thumbsu: Wooooooooo Go boys :thumbsu:

OR we play him off the bench and get him on the last 5-7 minutes of each quarter when players start to tire.
Expect about 15 possies and to show glimpses of the poise and vision we know Butts has got:thumbsu:
Go you good thing:D
