In light of the Port v Lions game, I'm now curious to know what would be the biggest lead we've had and then given away... and what would be the best score comeback we've done ????

a game against the bulldogs they got seven in the last quater and we got none and the won by a few points is one that stands out I was so incredibly pissed i've erassed most of that day from my memory!
As am4crows said Bulldogs at the MCG in 99 I think. Were 40 up at 3/4, not sure if lead was higher than that at some stage. They kicked 6.7 to 0.1 in ths last
93 prelim we lead by 42 at the half. they kicked 11.3 to 2.4 in the last half.
Our best 2nd half come back in 35 points v Hawks in the wet 1995. Mcleod starred.
Out best last quarter comeback is 26 points v North Melbourne in 93. Modra took markof the year.
We also trailed Port by about 7 goals during the 3rd qtr in 2000.

St Kilda at the Dome in 2005 would be up there.
St Kilda at the Dome in 2005 would be up there.
Adelaide fell 8-points short after trailing by over 10 goals in that game. The roof was open at the Telstra Dome. The Crows finished 6th with a 13-9 record and lost games by 8,5,5 and 1 points, missed the top 4 by 1 game that year. Boy, I hated 2003!. I still think that year was one of their best chances of winning the flag. By finishing 6th Adelaide had to travel up to Brisbane to play the Lions in the 2nd week of finals and never stood a chance in that game.
Biggest comeback was from 42 points down to beat Port Adelaide by 7 points in 2000. The ROO won the showdown medal.
Biggest lead lost. Adelaide were 40 points up at 3 quarter time vs the Bulldogs in 1999 at the G. But the Doggies reversed the 1997 prelim final to pay back the Crows who struggled and had their worst ever year in 1999.
1993 prelim final against Essendon at the MCG. Adelaide led by 42 points at halftime, hmm huge mistake. Crows had to wait another 4 years.

I think he was talking about the game when we were about 5 goals to 0 down when the quarter time siren sounded, or maybe it was 6-0? Reilly kicked a goal on the siren and amazingly we went on and absolutely blitzed the Saints.
I was watching with some mates, big night planned with beer and footy and the rest.. almost turned over to Big Brother at quarter time.
Brilliant win.

um he said 2005, not 2003.
I believe he is referring to the game against St.Kilda when they smashed us in the first quarter then in the second quarter we came out and pulverized them, and it stayed that way for the rest of the game.

Thanks for rehashing these. :( Was at the bulldogs game, it put the final nail in the coffin for the 99 season, all we could comeback at them was to remind them of 97 and 98, didn't help.:(
Was just about booking accommodation in Melbourne at half-time in 93, but thought I would wait another quarter, glad I did. :(

One of my all time favourite regular season games. In the second quarter when Roo bombs a long goal and just stands there high fiving all the guys running up as if to say was there ever any doubt?

2005 R9
St Kilda 5.2 5.4 8.6 8.9 (57)
Adelaide 1.2 7.3 13.7 15.13 (103)
Was an awesome game we looked crap in the first quarter and were five goals down. After being 5 goals to 0 down we came back kicked 15 goals to 3 to go on and win the match easily.

Yep, spot on, definitely 2005. I was at the Dome (living in Melb at the time) and was also at the West Coast game in Subi for round 22 that got us top spot....was a nice bday present, pity about the week that followed:o

Cheers for the scores. What a brilliant night that was, I still remember it fairly well despite hitting the booze pretty hard.

Yeah, that was a great game, think Welsh kicked about 5-6, Ricciuto kicked a couple of beauties from outside 50.
May have been mentioned, but the semi in 2002 when we went up by about 8 goals in the first quarter only to lose the lead by 3/4 time and then come back and have a similarly dominant quarter to our first.

The game against Melbourne in Melbourne? That was an amazing match as well, such a topsy turvy game.

Second semi-final in 2002! It was supposed to be our home final as well!
One of my all time favourites is
Round 7, 2000
Adelaide Vs Port Adelaide
Port Adelaide 6.3 10.8 12.10 13.13 (91)
Adelaide 4.1 6.3 8.9 14.14 (98)
BOG: Mark Ricciuto - 41 possesions and 4 goals
Its not the biggest come from behind win but it was one of the sweetest :thumbsu:

Yeah that was against Melbourne in 02, that was the game that was supposed to be our home final. I am pretty sure we lost to Brisbane in our first final (well smashed more like it) and then went on to beat Melbourne and then valiantly lose to Collingwood in the prelim.

I am pretty sure you're right as I am pretty sure we got a goal or two late in the quarter to cut the margin down, but pretty sure that they had about a 6 goal+ lead during the 3rd quarter.
Interestingly of our top 6 comebacks of all time from 3/4 time deficits, 2 are in finals away from home.
Bulldogs 1997 and Melbourne 2002.
