Well, I'm trying to get excited for this one, but still picking myself up after the debacle last Saturday in the supposed match of round 4. Normally for me it's not too hard to get excited for West Perth matches, but.....and let's not forget that in the pre-season there was less than a kick (3 points IIRC) between these 2 sides.

We have the young guns from swannies to watch again, Naita, Yarran, Notte, Garlett, Hinkley, Davis against the Falcons coming off a very good win against the other team tipped to fight out September glory with the lions, the bullodgs. Apart from Kep and Kiwi (possibly) others to watch are Alex James, who has impressed so far this year, Brent Connelly, younger van Berlo and Brayden Duckworth, who I was impressed with pre-season.

Should be a cracking match at Joondy on Friday night, at 7:30 pm. I'm praying the rain holds off for this one.

Other matches are:

Perth v Subi, top of the table clash, who would have thought? With players to watch being S Selwood (possibly), Will Sullivan, Drummy (?) for the Demons and Daniel Rich (is there anyone else?), oh Adam Cockie and maybe Trent Dennis-Lane for the Lions. Go the Dees!:thumbsu:

East Perf v Sowfs - both aiming to pick themselves up from last weeks floggings, with a plethora of AFL and ex AFL stars to watch for the bulldogs, as well as some young guns like Delmenico, Hams and others. Whilst for EP we have Sweet, Sampey, Seal, Oliver and Reynolds as ones to watch.

Peel v Claremont, ordinarily ho hum, but will this game be different, with Peel having 2 wins on the board, albeit a scrape in, early. For Peel we have O'Brien and Schofield in good form, along with possibly Brad Ebert and Ballantyne has been setting them alight. However, in the heavyweight corner we have C Jones, Wilkes, Browne (?), MacKenzie, McGinnity, Stevenson (maybe) and James Thomson, along with up and comers deBoer, Richardson etc.

Well, those of us that got to Joondalup saw a cracking match between the Falcons and Swans and a massive dummy spit by my 7 yo. Apologies for that, he doesn't take momentum swinging against Swans very well!

Swans stumbled across the line by 5 points after leading by 8 or 9 goals at one point. Half way through the third West Perth found a spark and away they went clawing their way back into the game. Super game and good crowd. :thumbsu:

Josh Head played really well for Sowfs again, what does he need to do to get an AFL callup ?.

Black Ducks are hanging in there, but should only get better as the season goes on ............. well I hope.

Peel Win :d

Had to take a second look, especially after your earlier post. Hope you had money on it.:D

Lot of our players are 18-21, what is it 8 debuts so far? But the worrying thing for me is we lose Naita and Yarran for 10 weeks to under 18's duties, but the others are developing well and a close one like Fri night should help them a lot, I hope.

Perth v Subi - well was anyone surprised by the ease of Subi's win? Just too many hard bodies and went too hard for Perth in the second and third quarters. Who can go with them is the question and I have a suspicion that West Perth may give a better account of themselves than others have been able to against Subi.
