As the thred states but ???
1) Do the teams we support ever listen to anything us fans say- No
2) R any of us in a position to give our ideas any credit eg media, coaches, team Reps. - ? (me NO)
3) Why do we as fans seem to put more effort into the tactics and match ups then our own coaches regardless of teams eg u ever cringe at a match up at the start of the game and say what the hell is he doing. -?
4) Do you think it would be a good idea that A) the coaches read these sort of boards and B) that they have a community representitive on behalf of the fans just to give them a run down on fans thoughts about players and perfomances.-?
5) Why is it that some half wit news writer or columist can have more of a influance on any team then the teams own fans- ?
6) Who listens to these half wits anyway.- Nobody

Interested in your thoughts guys and girls
P.S please no smart ass jokes. :)

journo's do not have an effect on a team.
we do not have an effect on a team.

thats the way it is, and should be.

seriously, if we were in controll of west coast, we'd be far worse off then we are currently.

it'd be a team full of played 25 and under, who kick long 100% of the time.

3) Why do we as fans seem to put more effort into the tactics and match ups then our own coaches regardless of teams ?That's a bit rich.

I don't know how much time each week you spend thinking about tactics and match-ups, but I'd be surprised if it's on par with the hours put in by our match committee and coaching staff.

4) Do you think it would be a good idea that A) the coaches read these sort of boards and B) that they have a community representitive on behalf of the fans just to give them a run down on fans thoughts about players and perfomances.-?What would possibly be the value in that?

Do you honestly think that you have something worthwhile to tell John Worsfold?

What are you going to say?

"I reckon our forward line sucks, and our midfield looks slow".

Yeah, great. I bet Woosha would get right on it after hearing those pearls of wisdom.

Heh, imagine the cries from the crowd at Subi:

"Why the #@&% are you kicking long when the opposition players have flooded back? Handball it, for Christ's sake!"

fans do pay their memberships, and as a result feel thay have some sort of connection and some sort of right to have their views heard.i think what they want to hear is some sort of acknowledgement by those in authority.

we all know that it's not realistic for the coaches to listen to what the fans are saying

we don't know the ins and outs and the whys and why nots, and nor should we it's just that we are frustrated

Haha so true, at least for me.

Watching Woosha sitting in the box against Sydney I was amazed at how calm he appeared. I was at home pacing around the living room and shouting how our entire team should all jump on Barry Hall and start swinging. In hindsight, it probably wouldn't have been the best instruction to have given the players.

An entire team run by BigFooty posters... that's just scary.

I'll try and give you proper answers & not try to be the hero smartar.se like Gunnar.

A couple points:

1) If the coaching staff were to listen to us supporters, who do they listen to? Even on a forum such as this, with only a handful of posters offering their opinions, there is rarely anything we all unanimously agree with. So do we suggest Woosha play Kennedy at FF or CHF? Do we man up on the loose man in our F50 or not? Do we kick long or run it up? etc etc etc.
So really, why would the club even bother with these so called representatives, let alone even read public forums such as these?

2) The media certainly do read these forums. There's been a number of articles over the years that have been blatantly plagiarised off here, so our opinions do get out sometimes. I don't imagine the media has any direct influence on clubs, but certain pressures can be put on clubs if the media continue pushing a story.

From a tactical point of view, there is no chance of any club ever giving a shit about what supporters think. That said, in soccer there's been a number of managers that got the sack because of supporter uproar. Real Madrid even sacked Fabio Capello about a year ago because the supporters weren't happy at the bland style of football that was being played, despite having relatively good onfield results. So who knows just how much influence we as supporters have?
