Not 100% happy re Gehrig going as it leaves another tall defender to double team Roo or Kosi (and I'm v worried re their finishing ability)... But in saying if they are double teamed someone else will be free.
Happy re Fiora tho. Gotta earn his spot back now!

Swap Gram and Dempst and thats a pretty good team.
Lookin forward to seeing how Armo, Jones and Gardy go.

Armitage in :thumbsu:
Gehrig out :thumbsd:
Gehrig accuracy in front of goals is invaluable, and when our other key forwards look so shaky I can't believe he was dropped. Also Gardiner in? I know he picked up a few fans over the pre-season but imo even a past it Gehrig is better than him. He's supposed to be doing lead up work to relieve Riewoldt right? Well he's got the lead up the wing and take a chest mark part right, but after that he just doesn't use the ball well enough i reckon. Here's hoping Charlie and the rest of the team prove me wrong.

Just an opinion: I would rotate Gardiner through FP-HFF, and have him lead out anywhere up to a wing. He is a capable leading target and link man a bit further up the ground. If his opponent zones off he will be a bit of a ball magnet, and is a capable mark. He needs to play on quickly though, and a Montagna or Dal Santo coming past would be ideal.
You just don't want him lining up for too many shots, which would add to your woes in that area.

Good point LLD, i had this in mind when i saw him named. I know there has been a lot of criticism of Gardiner from Cats supporters because he's slow to get rid of it after a lead up mark. Hopefully Charlie has learnt a few things since then.
On selection, I think this is the team a few of us have been hoping for. Armo in, G out. It will be interesting to see how the boys go. Time for Kosi to step up.
just a quick question, what exactly is going on with schneider and how long will he be out for? also sorry if i sound like im out of the loop but will we see ferguson play anytime soon or is he on the LTI list?

With Gardiner in the side it allows Riewoldt to stay closer to goal with Kosi while Gardiner plays your lead up target at CHF and up the ground.
Schneider was a test this week, obviously hasn't pulled up like they'd hoped. I think they'd expect him back next week.
Ferguson played for casey last wkd, not in our best but good signs that he's back getting game time.

Who did he Listen to???????????
He half listened to me! I have been caliing for Fiora's postions for ages. Not sure on Gehrig. I think he is the victim of our undefined forward line structure.
In any regard, it is worth seeing what happens without him while the season is young. May knock his workrate up when he returns.
Having Gehrig on the sidelines is no bad thing for depth and recovery.
Thumbs up to RL for this weeks selection, it looks good.
Is S.Fisher a definite starter? I heard he's got hamstring problems.
Did he train this week?
im probably on my own when i say this but im a bit of a fan of fiora but only when hes at his best he used to be great when hed kick those goals from 55 or so but it seems last year hes declined and everytime he goes for goal its rubbish! be good to see how armo goes and i rekcon gardiner will help just need montagna etc running past. hopefully well get win on the board!
