For the last few weeks I with many other saints supporters have been saying armitage and gardiner in and fiora and r.clarke out and look what happens. Armitage and gardiner's 1st quaters where brilliant and really got us going, they contributed all game long aswell...

and what about the side step!!!

Armitage really showed how much he wants to be in this side. He threw himself into tackles, bumped and shepherded, and burrowed into packs with little regard for his own safety. Very impressive for a guy his age.

So what happened to Geary, was he dropped or was he injured. with the emergance of Armitage will the saints play all of Clinton Jones, Armtage, Geary, Gilbert in the same side or will they drop any of these kids.

At this stage it would appear unlikely that Geary and Armitage would play in the same side without an injury to a more senior midfielder/back flanker

would they drop jones for geary.

maybe??

no reasone to. i just think Geary would be better value in your side.

Maybe. They're in the team for different reasons, though.

What's more likely is schnieder coming in for clinton jones...

How better does the team look without Raph Clarke and Fiora?

SOO much better. More pace, more heart, more grunt, more passion, more skill.

It'll take a bout of gastro and 10 players out, for those two to ever put on a Saints jumper again. Brad Howard and Eljay will get a game before those two.

Fair to say Armitage is a star.

do you rekon rosco was just keeping the young blokes out because...

1) he was giving raph, fizz and co one last chance to prove themselves
and
2) make armo, jones etc more hungry for their place in the side so that when they came in they'd have a red hot crack

i know armo got knocked out and thats why he miss the last couple but seriously that may be why rosco kept them out of the team..

I've actually been thinking the exact same thing. Looking at the way those two young-guns played on Friday, you just got the sense they had something huge to prove... they did NOT like sitting there in the stands watching Fiora etc play - frustrated the hell out of them. They came out fired up.

Fiora and Raph needed to be given one last roll of the dice, which they got. They didn't honor the chance Ross gave them. No honor, so no right to play.

Not to burst the bubble here, but who really thought Jones had a good game?

I think its a mistake to group Armitage and Jones together when saying the inclusions did well. Armitage did well. Jones was poor.

Clint didn't do enough for my liking. This sounds harsh and I will reserve judgement for one more game because he was good last week in his return, maybe I missed who he was tagging - I IQ'd the match so I will have a more intense look at his game. Can anyone give me his game time?
