Simply put, yes.
In 5 years time think about the talent we'll have that'll be at the height of their powers, as well as the stalwards that'll continue to produce. Supposedly we have the second youngest list in the comp. Players we'll have in our side in 5 years time include;
Masten, Cox, Kerr, Scooter, Fridge, J Mac, Notte, Glass, Spangher, Ebert, Waters, Hurn, Bones, etc etc..
Think of how good a side we'll be in 5 years time, we should be contending well before that though. Whadda ya reckon?

Its incredibly tough to win a flag these days, and with the expansion of the competition to 18 teams its going to be harder than ever.
I'd expect us to be challenging for the flag within 5 years, but whether we'll win it is another matter.
Yes we will.
No need to be a negative nancy.

It's a very nice looking lineup on paper :)
Soooo many variables have to go in our favour to win another flag, but I reckon we are the smartest, most well resourced club in the league...can do :thumbsu:

If we recruit well over the next two years we should be.
When Ash Hanen retires and Notte weighs 90+ kilos we will win a flag.

Yes we will be champions of the world.. out of the new players listed:
1 will be very good
2 will be good
1 will be traded
1 will be a depth player
2 will be delisted
Whoever drafts well in the next four years can win in five years...

Yes. As long our talent is fully realised we could win 2 or more in a row.

Dirty word :thumbsd: :p
Every team will say the same thing.
But we average making a Grand Final every 5 or so years so Id like to think that within the next 1-6 years we will play off and have a chance at winning another flag. :thumbsu:

Yep i agree, 2 - 3 years will be good. Cox and Glass and those sorts won't be too old and the young boys will be strating to get near their peak or close. 5 years would be ideal for this years draftees but maybe not so for Coxy and Glass.

yes we can. We probably either need a revelation KP forward (notte, kennedy or brown) or a trade to get a quality one. We will also need a crumber or two and some quality outside mids. If we got daniel rich i would go so far as saying we WILL win a flag in the next 5 years. Fletcher, Graham, Braun, Hansen, stenglein and embley would have all been moved along and a midfield of hurn, rich (hopefully), masten, kerr, priddis, j-mac, ebert and rosa will emerge.
Imagine a center trio of Hurn, Rich, Masten.
Would still choose Judd, Cousins, Kerr

Fair enough to suggest that in 5 years Cox might be past it... Having said that Brendon Lade if i recall correctly is into his 30's and still producing some awesome footy. Dean Cox is a much better footballer at 26 than Lade at 26. I'd expect Cox to still be a dominant ruckman at 31-32 especially if Seaby can hold down some time in the ruck and Coxy has a good run with injuries.
Well Timmy Watson just said "It might take the Eagles 10,15 even 25 years to rebuild that midfield"
OK Tim :thumbsu:
