I'm worried, Gibbs didn't train on Friday and Bentick didn't play with the ants today. He has been suffering a back problem. We can not afford for him to miss tommorow's game. Any news on Gibbs?

Looks probable at this stage as many have previously alluded to.
Would be a shame to see Gibbsy miss the game tomorrow, but good luck to Bentick. He's a good player who has just been squeezed out because of our added midfield class and grunt.
I'm sure he'll do a fine job against a Melbourne midfield severely lacking in confidence.
Looks like it. AB didn't play today, and there has certainly been some talk of Gibbs being injured during the week.

If Bentick plays the only role he could potentially fill is to tag Mcdonald or Jones which I would prefer we didn't do but if he plays that is what he has to do

We should win regardless!
I may be wrong but Bentick didnt play last week in the Ants for precausionary reasons only. No need to worry at this point in time, just have to wait tomorrow to see if there are any late in inclusions.

Perhaps Scotland or Hadley will drop back into the defensive line off half back and Bentick will take over the stopper role?
Bentick has been in fantastic form. I don't know where people get this crap from that he can't play. Seems to be another bigfooty myth.

I wouldn't expect him to be tagging McDonald as he will be tagging for them. He could easily fix up his old Calder teammate Brock - who Melbourne rely on
he's good in & under, we have stevens, judd & murph who he can feed it out to like mitchell at the hawks does.
if he can give it out to a free judd or murph they'll hit fev so often he'd get mastitis !

I have just had it confirmed by my daughter who is at a Bullants Cocktail Party tonight.......
Gibbs is out tomorrow (with a back injury) & replace by AB (possibly) :mad:
Gibbs was in recovery group today (maybe yesterday) unsure as too much music in background & was hard to hear my daughter.
My daughter is a friend of someone who works at Bullants.

she is not the one that likes Armi..... it is the younger one that loves Armi. :p
Demi (the younger one) stood in the huddle today at quarter time & 3qtr time & wanted to stand right behind Armi & pinch his Butt :eek:

I don't think this is a game defining change.
We should be able to win without Gibbsy, although it would be great to go into a 'real' potential win with him in the team! Especially after those tackles and that pressure last week!

My only concern with this change is that Bentick would not be able to play the same position as Gibbs has.
What they may do is insert Bentick to the middle - and move Hadley out to cover Gibbs' position.
Robbing Peter to pay Paul .... Hadley has been great IMO.
