without going over board lets play the kids.
I dont care if we end up 1-21.
We need to blood the kids.
The 1st quarter was ok but was made to look better due to Ports innacuracy.
We'll be alright - Its gonna take time.
The first quarter was good for us. Again we lose it, it's only round five but if we play like this all season then our season is over.
We need to fix/get rid of: Embley, Fletcher and Lynch.

Kennedy should've played also, I know he might not have won us the game but he can mark across half forward.

Not too good really but again dont really care unless some miracle happens we arnt gonna be a flag threat at all this year. Making the 8 looks to be the challenge now.
I made this thread trying to steer clear of naming individual players.
But we really should play big Kennedy next week and beyond.
I hope LeCras gets fit soon coz we are really missing a crumber.
But its the middle where we are getting smashed.

I have to agree with you. we're in the same boat as you guys. This year is over for both teams. But the future is bright for both sides with the likes of Ebert, Mastern, Selwood, etc for you guys and Ibbotson, Palmer, Mayne and Hinkley for us.
Maybe we'll pick up Nantui and rich in the draft...

At least one of them will be playing for Melbourne next year.
Both if the Dees hadn't beaten Carlton last year.
Just another thing I know its hard but the boys really dont look like they are enjoying their footy this year.
It would be good if they could just get a bit of flair and run in their game.
Easier said than done I guess.

theres something wrong with this team and im not talking about the list. theres talent there but we cant seem to put it together, what the ____ is wrong with us. we dont look like we want the ball as badly anymore.

2nd quarter against Port close to the worst we've played this year..

We are def lacking something out there, is it the leadership, is it the speed, we need to do something i cant take this, not used to it. Maybe we should blood our young players. I don't know. lets hope we can end off the game with some pride

Sure we post that we had a bad game and give reasons why, talk about our strategy, our confidence or skills of players, how we can improve, but you consistently post crap like this, that we are terrible and now your saying that that our season is over, we should throw out the experienced players and start blooding the youngins, maybe start tanking?

When one of my boys was a young tacker he devised this game of soccer where one player on every team was actually playing for the other team but no-one knew who it was. He called him the sabotage player.
I thought of that today watching the game, Fletcher was our sabotage player.

The season usually has 22 rounds and finals.
Are the Eagles finishing the season early or something? I want a refund on my membership if this is the case.

I'm miffed as to why so many people are calling for Lynch's head. He's been our leading goalkicker the last 2 years. Some people annoy me. The seasons over... Probably but oh well, as long as we continue to show glimpses of what this team is capable of i'll be satisfied.
I thought after the first 2 games that this group wouldn't 'gel' till the second half of the season. I still believe that, and I thought there were quite a few positives out of today's game in that direction.
We might not make the finals, and if we do we probably won't go too far, but the season is far from over. I'm actually looking forward to the rest of it !

We don't owe any of those Melbourne media vampires any apologies. They set out to kill us off the field and they succeeded. This season is definitely finished, but hopefully we'll be back bigger and better in 2009 and bullet proof. Last 20 mins of the PA game encouraging. Settle down all you doomsayers.
This season is far from over. We're only 2 games off the Swans and we're playing with a heap of factors against us - I am not going to go through them all for the umpteenth time here.
Give Kerr and a few others some games under their belt from a match fitness perspective along with the young blokes getting the same and we'll be in much better shape.

Now, why would the media even bother with trying to drag your lot down? That would be like trying to get Jason Akermanis to say something controversial. We would have been fine but they were never going to forgive us for not shaking the kiddies hands when we won the flag that time, and now they are making us miss goals and things like that, the evil, genius bastards.
