Rutten Bock and Basset would all spend time on him, probably a bit of Stevens too.

Maybe Judd, but would they want to destroy his confidence by sending him into the Dangerzone? :thumbsu:

hmmm... you wouldnt happen to have GOD in your team by any chance?

I doubt we will win, not the way we've been playing in the last two weeks. They'll be too much for us to handle and plus we are struggling in away games. Looks like it will be 3-3. Hope I'm wrong.

Our home jumper does NOT clash with Carlton's jumper.

Not so much worried about Fev. Nore worried about what happens up the field, stop the supply and Fev is not the factor he can be.

As if people aren't confident, Carlton have won two in a row!

They are so due for a loss by their standards it's not funny!

I do not agree

Midfield pressure is the key, restrict clean delivery

completely correct. 3 melbourne players were on fev today and he still won the contest - he leads far too fast for effective match-ups. you need a light, quick defender on him and control the midfield - it's the middle which has allowed him to kick so many goals these last 3 games.

should be a good game.

our midfield will push back hard to block the space and put pressure on your ball carriers

can you confirm why Gibbs missed today, is he in doubt for next week

I also read Thorton got reported :thumbsd:, he will be missed, his form has been excellent :thumbsu:

I disagree Smoovy. The Fevster is on fire and he will be able to convert half as many opportunities as our forwards get into more goals.

Maybe we should play McGregor on him, the Carlton midfielders may become confused as to which mop is which, especially as the guernseys are so strikingly similar.

Nail. Hammer. Head. Fev is NOT beating Rutten in a muscle contest so will be relying on his leads being honoured. Stop the ball flow and you stop his supply.

marcmurphy pretty much summed it all up. gibbs pulled up sore after the pies game and couldn't train because of back pain i think. doubt he'll miss the next match. thornton "punched" a dee in the back of the head while spoiling a tad too late. not much in it at all - if he gets weeks i'll be very pissed off as he is needed very much for our structure.

Rutten would be the wrong match-up for Fev IMO. Fev has been in hot form and his strong leading is what will beat Rutten who struggles against the leading forward. Bock would probably be the one to put on Fev.

Agreed. Fev's not a body-on-body marking player. Rutten would be too strong for him there. But Fev's seriously quick on the lead, and if Judd, Stevens or Murphy has the pill at half-forward, you can be sure it's hitting Fev on the CFC logo.

Bock might have the speed, but you'd not want to lose his drive would you? He's been getting a TON of the pill. I guess you've got Johncock and Bassett and others anyway.

I thought pills were one of the reasons Judd left West Coast?

Rutten will destroy Fev, he's done it before, he'll do it again. Fevola plays too deep for Bock to start on him, it'll be Rutten. Fev hasn't killed us since '04, guess who came in the week after and has hardly missed a game since... you guessed it, Rutten.

Oh man. Every board, ours especially it seems, goes ballistic every time there is the slightest whiff of someone "out of contract" or whatever. It's stupid.

There was a Daniel Kerr frenzy a week ago, a J Brown one too. I do recall the Rutten one, and my answer then was the same as it always is "well duh, of course you'd love a player of that quality to come here, but there's no evidence he would/is even interested in not playing for <current club>".

Yes that was pretty damn hilarious.

On the Carlton board again, I had a laugh when I saw a thread saying "i want a carlton dynasty" or something after their win over Collingwood. Some people wanted at least 5 flags in the next 10 years or something. I think someone even said that asking for 5 flags in 10 years was a bit much, but they expect 1 every 2 years. Not sure if they were taking the piss or not.

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE Mr.Craig dont play Doughty on Judd, Chris is just coming into form and is getting fitter each week. Doughty will only help him getting 3 more votes.

Truck for Fev, Can anyone remember the last time Truck lost a duel?

Truck for Fev, Can anyone remember the last time Truck lost a duel?

Luke Darcy in was it 2005 or 2006? Lance Franklin last week, Mathew Richardson last year.

And the key characteristics of Richo and Franklin is that they beat Truck due to their pace of leads;) Truck has also always struggled with Neitz

Yep, on Franklin. Rutten is TOO SLOW to collar a leading Fev who is similar to Buddy in a lot of ways;)

Bret Thorntons Report was Thrown out :) so he's available this week :thumbsu:
no one can stop fev not even dustin Fletcher of Essendon couldn't stop him ;)
remember when Fev pinched the Game at Adelaide a few seasons ago with that kick from
the Boundary?
