The Eagles at the moment are a sick shodow of the mighty confident side that won the flag in 2006. I remember the hideous Geelong fade-out of that season, with players like Hunter, Embley etc doing superhuman things to get the Eagles over the line. That was a dark day for us Cats fans, and then the following week they performed a similar feat at home against the Blues. The eagles then had swagger, confidence and perhaps a belief that they could do anything.
I think the Cousins thing has shaken that belief, and now losing Judd, with the implication that he wanted out of the culture there, has absolutely shot to pieces the side. Kerr is shell-shocked, and is now harried as the #1 onballer. The bit-part players are now just not in the ballgame, as the might of possession that Judd and Cousins won is now missing. To be toyed with by a winless Port at the former 'House pf pain' is a massive drop, and they will do well to win more than a handful of games this season. They will beat the Demons, but Geelong would be ready to unleash a massive hiding on the Eagles, especially at Subiaco where Geelong enjoy playing due to the wide open spaces.

Its no secret that the Eagles are struggling this year. This is the 1,735,325th thread telling us how crap the Eagles are, West Coke Eagles suck, we're down the bottom of the ladder, etc etc.
However I look at McKinley, Masten, Spaghner, Ebert and Selwood and I have hope for the future.
Port you beat us at home, well done. However you were up by 10-11 goals and ended up scraping over the line by 4 goals. You lost to the Lions at home after being 8 goals up. You're 1-4. I'm sure you remember the 119 point flogging the Cats handed out to you last year.
I'm glad beating us brought such hope and joy to you mob.
