Slaps
Minson, great last quarter again, just needs to hold those marks down forward early in game
Gia - Had a very good start to season without getting the recognition of some of the others, great again today.
Crossy and Acker - both outstanding yet again
Sledges
Hill - poor 2 weeks in row and today did not seem interested, did not chase
Boyd (in the final quarter) - sloopy, fumbling, turnovers and mistakes
Johnson - Should he be playing at all?
Harbrow - very poor this week, back to the reserves next week when West returns
The Team in the first quarter for not putting Richmond away with poor goal kicking

Slaps: Cross and Aker - good game as usual.
Lake - for holding a weak defense together.
Minson - as already mentioned good at the last quarter - and effectively drew the game for us.
Addison: For courage going the mark.
Sledges: Boyd and Callan for all their turnovers.
Welshy, having a very bad day.
Johno - shouldn't be playing if he is not up to it.
Murphy - sloppy ball skills dropping the mark etc.
Majority of the team for being down on pressure.

One big sledge for a lazy, loose, undisciplined display by virtually the whole team. We all know the tiger's skills go to water when presured so where was the pressure on the ball carrier today. Fell into our old ways today, sitting off blokes, letting them run unchallenged through the corridor. Couldn't find any dogs in the top six players on the ground today....and we still managed a draw thanks to the never say die efforts of Crossy, the classy goal by Murph, and the impressive Lake mark/Minson goal combination. Need to get back to contested footy next week against the Weagles.

Sledges:
One of the more frustrating games of late.
For the most part we didn't look at all interested. Apart from Cross and Cooney, very few went in and won the hard ball. We also had very few behind the ball. I lost count at the amount of times Richmond had someone free on the wing or in the corridor.
The way we defend kickouts is really starting to become annoying. At times today Richmond made it look like a training drill.
In terms of individuals:
Boyd's disposal still isn't up to scratch. When West comes back I'd like to see him given a hard tagging role
Hill's going to be a good footballer, but he really needs to put his head over the ball.
Johnson's clearly injured, but I don't see the point in him playing if he's going to have no impact.
Slaps:
Somehow snatching the two points, although our percentage now means nothing.
Cross had a game high 13 contested possessions. Dealt well with the Newman tag. Also looks like he's found a goalkicking side to his game.
Aker worked very, very hard.

Slaps:
- Minson. Fantastic last quarter again. Disposal has improved significantly this year, and he's a good shot for goal at the moment. Getting himself in the right positions, just needs to hold those marks. If he had of taken a couple of the ones he missed close to goal in the first quarter, could of easily finished up with 5 goals instead of 3.
- Akermanis is all class and uses the ball better than anyone. His decision making is generally always spot on and his execution is sublime. Much improved player from last year, he'll be even more dangerous when the side actually functions properly.
- Addison did well, he didn't have a huge influence but he's steadily improving. Still needs to continue to work hard & improve but he's doing OK. Disposal was clean today and he takes them on. Good tackler and very courageous, he was one of few to be happy with his effort.
- Gia was solid, he could've done a couple of things better, but for the most part he contributed pretty well. I can't understand why he was on the bench for the start of the last quarter, and for a while, but either way he did well today.
---------------------------------------
Sledges:
- Boyd was good in the contest and came away with the ball a few times, but he turned the ball over chronically in the second half. He made some very, very bad mistakes through both poor decision making and poor execution.
- Harbrow & Hill did nothing - turned it over when they got it, didn't work hard/apply pressure and generally looked really ordinary today. One of them has to be dropped, and in this case based on earlier form shown by Hill, it's got to be Harbrow who looks unfit and completely out of form.
- Hargrave/Callan for plenty of errors. What else can be said? They turn it over and play from behind far too often. Not good enough.
- Johnson. Why did he play? He's a liability at the moment, especially when the opposition have the ball. Managed to kick a lucky one off the ground, otherwise his impact was very minimal as it has been for 3-4 weeks. Needs a rest.
- Eagleton. Nothing last week, nothing this week. Supposed to be a runner & a good user of the ball. Basically saw none of that bar a few short cameos. Needs to lift or else his spot in the side is in jeopardy when injured players return. He didn't work hard enough at all, and could've attacked the game a lot harder than he did.
- The entire side for slipping back into '07 habbits. Silly handballs, poor decision making, poor skill execution, NO accountability & a serious lack of pressure.
Slaps:
Cross: Efforts were A grade, courage was A grade, he must have no pain receptors in his head the way he constantly puts his head over the ball. Even Libba would be in awe :thumbsu:
Cooney: Inside midfielder now, uses the ball well, doesn't drop his head. Everything we hoped he'd add to his game, he has.
Murphy, always looks classy when he has it
Callan: Good pick up for nothing, cheers Cats
Sledges:
Boydy: forget the training track, get him to the psych for the week. His disposal is much better than then the "ever touch a clanger" second half he showed today. Must lift
The bros: Defensive pressure in the F50 wins games, especially when you can't get near the pill

slaps
aker - put in a great effort
gilbee - 3 goals
murphy - most versatile player imo
big will - stood up when he was needed and delivered
lake - played well, interesting when he came forward
sledges
johnson - if you're carrying an injury thats affecting your performance then why are you playing?
hill - what happened to all that class?
harbrow
welsh - that run-up needs work methinks
hahn - what actually is your position in the team?
and a huge sledge to all the so-called doggies supporters/members in the level two area on the lockett end of the wing who went home with 10 minutes to go. support the team through to the end, and we may have won the game. especially the balding outspoken offensive guy with glasses who sat right at the end of the aisle near me. he had more than too much to say yelling and swearing and then got up and left when there was still 15 minutes to go. disgraceful.
by the final siren it was almost just me and my mum and dad sitting on our own.

Gia's inability to even attempt to spoil a Richmond player going for a mark in the forward 50.....I think it was in the 3rd quarter. Not good enough.....

Agreed, we were livid watching it happen.
Ok.
Slaps:
Murphy, Cross - Great performances all day
Great never-say-die attitude in the last 5 minutes....
Minson - great effort and real composure when kicking for goal
Sledges:
The lack of effort up until the last 5 minutes...
Our decision making.
Slaps
Crossy- great game works so hard Currently IMO our best player
Acker- Great to see him showing his true class
Mino - If he could hold a couple of those easly marks could of had 5, got three and was great
Callan-Great chase, great pressure, lots of courage. (see sledge)
Sledge
Callan- very sloppy disposal, No use doing the hard stuff just to give it straight back to the opp
Gilbee- Looks lost, lucky he kicked some goals becasue apart from that he cant get near it(dont get ahead of yourself)
Johnson- PLEASE REST NEXT WEEK, if your injured your no use to us.
Rocket- need to get this team better mentally prepaired, we always seem to struggle when we are favorites, its just not good enough.
In a whole i though our skills were shit. On a bright note, i dont think we can play much worse and we are still undefeated. Its a good start to the year and hopefully Rocket can get the boys pumped for a win against the eagles

Slaps:
Crossy...does anybody give a better effort than Crossy?
Wighty...unsung hero yesterday, played a great game
Minson...last quarter specialist
Addison...was solid in and under
Sledges:
Johnno...shouldn't be playing if his injury is hindering him
Hill...will learn from what he did, or didn't do
Welsh...I had to use my eraser as I had him pencilled in to kick them at least 3 times !
Harbrow....needs a go at Willy to get back to form and full fitness
Lake...ball watched too often, despite the fact I love the guy, I think he got caught out a few times yesterday

I think you may find that he has been used as a tagger since returning from injury.

The one you are referring to is where Deledio marked it and it did appear as though he put no contest but if you look back at the replay he was blinded by the sun at that end

Richmond outplayed us.
Wallace out coached Eade.
It is great to see Nathan Brown playing great footy.
Our forward structure is working well which can only be a great credit to Wayne Campbell.....although others are involved he is the forward coach.
Jake King and Nathan Foley cut us up a little, but we drew the game and that in itself is a credit to the boys who really were beaten around the ground all day. Their pace was too much for us at time, they controlled the pace of the game, slowing it right down when required. They choked a little at the end. I thought Minson was good again, he opens up opportunities for the smaller forwarders. The Lake mark was special. He was clearly injured in the action of landing.....anyone watching the replay will acknowledge that. Richo was good, I would have liked a match up for him....make him a little more accountable down back....I suspect that Eade preferred Richo playing midfield to half back.....
the tigers will move forward they have something to look forward. Young Jack can play, Tambo was good, young White looks alright. They beat us in the ruck duals, I thought. They appeared to have more time......we appeared rushed and under pressure when we got the footy.

All true points but how do you see us improving on these issues?
Pace
Height
Strength
I thought Richmond had the wood on us in all three areas.

We looked slow becauce of out decision making. It was poor from very earlier. The first option is often the best and it was rarely taken. When it was taken we looked quick...example being Conney's goal from the bounce. The ball handling errors also make you look slow and poor disposal.....Callan's kick to Acker on the Hawkins wing where the kick dropped short and forced Acker to wait.....the kick needed to be forward of Acker and allow him to run onto it.....it was a poorly weighted kick.
Strength we are stronger but more time in the weight room is required. Height, our height is OK. Just allowed Richmond to kick to guys in good positions. We should have lost by 5 goals.....we got out of jail.
Their inexperience and poor coaching right at the end cost them. They needed leadership and they struggled to find it out on the ground or in their coaching box. For every other minute Wallace was brillant.

griffen - have watched him closely this year as a comparison to deledio and tambling. but he was soundly beaten yesterday, needs to work on his defensive skills like deledio and tambling if they expect to play midfield role. we know they can win the ball, its what they do when the dont have the pill is what takes them to the next level.
