The start to the season has been poor to stay the least but its hard to really make up your own mind on what needs improvement until you can see the boys play live. Being able to see a full oval, who breaks when, who doesnt or does man up, who chases and who just cruises and what plays we have is something im looking forward too
Also getting some value out of the Vic Membership as i dont think i will use it finals time this year.:thumbsu:

Strange start to the season aye! We played all the other interstate teams in the first five rounds!
It's been a while since the boys have been to melbourne!

I'll be there too!
We haven't played in Melbourne since Round 21 (I think) last year when we beat St.Kilda in that awesome comeback game :thumbsu:
We have got a pretty god record at the Dome in the last couple of years (won 6 of our last 8) so it would be nice to keep it going - But it will be tough.
Doggies are going nicely.
Im heading over to the game - Cant wait - Going to Carl v Adel earlier in the day so its gonna be a big footy/drinking day :thumbsu::D
Just saw that we have won 6 of our last 8 at both the Dome and the MCG :thumbsu:

let hope the changes to last 7 of 9
I'm going over as well to see us play at the dome. Also going to ANZAC day, will probably head down to watch "he who shall not be named" & might go see what Buddy goes like on Sunday as well.

OK, was at the game. I want to post this before i read any other posts or listen to the reports so i can't be influenced.
Firstly. Well done doggies. Great close in skills and movement of the ball. You are playing great footy and good luck to you.
Below is my opinions;
Forward line;
Did well with what they got delvered to them.
Fridge - Outstanding!!!! Outstanding in marking, kicking, chasing, tackling, contesting, standing up for kerr and most importantly leading into the corridor. The only black mark - why didnt we keep trying to hit him? He was running white hot.... USE him!!!!!
Ben Mac - Again, great game made the most out of what was delivered to him. Very nice kick from 50 in the second qtr.
Cones - Led hard, worked very well with the other forwards and kicked straight.
These 3 players should be told their places are safe for the next 10 weeks. And in Lecras and theres a great mix.
Lynch - Worked very hard, contested well. Should be played at CHB, IMO.
Armstrong - feel his days are numbered.
Midfield;
Not enough help or effort.
Kerr- Gun, Contested possies were out of control. Got smashed from all angles and still fired on. BUT I was told (couldnt see myself as the goal post blocked my view) that he head butted west.... not sure about this!
Masten - very impressed with him. looks small but gets in the contest and fights hard.
Ebert - not enough time on the ground or at my end to make a call. but from the little i saw, im sure he will be a gun
Cox - nothing needs to be said. Stands alone.
Braun, Rosa, stinga, Embers - Was very disappointed with these guys. It seemed that one in two posessions were clangers from all of them. I fear for some of their futures.
Backline;
To be honest i thought they were ok. The amount of ball coming in and the speed of it made the job very hard. I know they made loads of clangers but i feel 60% were due to Braun, Rosa, stinga, Embers not running back hard enough or providing options for a clearing kick out.
Schofield - looked out of his depth.
Hunter - bad game, looked like he did his knee. Spanger easy replacement
Waters - made some mistakes but this guy bleeds our club and his spot should not be in trouble this year
Now... while i have said all these things, i think if we had Priddis, LeCras and Butler (2006) the score would've been very different.
IMO we need another tactical mind in the coach's box. The cheque book should be thrown at Buckley. Smart player and has the makings of a great coach.
We need to use the shortest way home... down the guts. We have targets in the fwd line who can take a contested mark, just give them the opportunity to do so.
Looks like Rich will be in the blue and gold next year.
