Being Rnd 6 and all, I thought it would be a good idea to post squads that include players who we think are worth of inclusion and who should be ommitted. Mine is as follows

Melbourne Squad
Backs: M.Whelan, N.Carroll, D.Bell
Half backs: J Frawley, J.Rivers, C.Sylvia
Centreline: C.Morton, B.McLean, C.Bartram
Half forwards: B.Green, A.Wonaeamirri, L.Dunn
Forwards: A.Davey, M Newton, A.Maric
Followers; J.White, J.McDonald, N.Jones
Interchange from: C.Bruce, P.Wheatley,S.Martin/J.Meesen,B.Moloney,

Team Changes
In: Newton, Martin/Meesen, Maric
Out: - Neitz (Inj) Jamar (Omt) Robertson (Omt)

Meesen is at test level on the injury list, if he is 100% play him if not, bring in Martin to replace Jamar in the ruck.

I know some people will object but I have replaced Robbo for Maric. Robbo has been out of sorts IMO since Round 1 and maybe a week in the magoos will snap the bad streak. Newton is the only option for Neitz in the square but was reported for striking in the VFL.

Miller will be back, I just hope Bailey doesn't think he is a suitable option for Brown or Bradshaw. Robbo won't be dropped, thought he showed a bit of heart on Sat, got let down by delivery and poor kicking. My god Bater should be back too which will help.

IN: Miller, Bate, Meesen, Martin, Maric, Garland

There is no chance of Robbo being dropped, I thought he was very good on the weekend he took some good marks and i reckon he is starting to hit some form.

I hope Green is played in the forward line with Neitz out.....(but it probebly won't happen)

I forgot Robbo. I don't think he should be our main target. I wonder how he would go off half forward leadin down the ground. We are struggling with lead in the middle of the ground that was very clear yesterday.

Robertson was the only forward other than Green able to take a mark inside 50. Sure, his kicking was average but we can't drop him and lose Neitz.

Newton if for Neitz
Bate in for one of Wonaeamirri, Morton, Moloney, Whelan, Wheatley, Dunn

*** EDIT ***

With Valenti being promoted I say throw him straight in! Out another of the players listed above.

Robbo is usually a dead eyed dick. Let him win his singing competition and then he will settle back in for the rest of the season. Robbo is an absolute champ who has provided many many great memories.

Why any of you still have Daniel Bell in the team is beyond me. Milestone game, flooding tactics. Statistics 1 kick 9 handpasses. The guy is the most overrated player in the team. He tries hard but that's not enough.

He tries hard but that's not enough. From what I saw of him he was handballing because he was trying to stick to instructions instead of kicking it to the opposition, did he play a full game, I can't remember seeing him much in the second half? Bell is a vital player for us and I'm confident in his ability, all we can judge players on at the moment is how hard they try because they have no idea what they are meant to be doing as a game plan.

Anyone reckon that Valenti is a chance after being promoted?

And to the OP of this thread - Drop Robbo? Sure he's been sh*t for the first 4 rounds be he had a fair dinkum crack on Sunday, ridiculous to call for him to be dropped for Maric who did next to nothing on the weekend.

I was going to ask the same question. Does anyone know how he has been playing in the VFL? is he a chance anytime soon of getting a gig?

Ins:Bate,Miller & Holland
Outs:Neitz,Whelan & Wheatley

Holland for Neitz, need a big strong body up forward.
Miller back after suspension, would prefer Newton but he is struggling to get a kick with Sandringham.
Bate an automatic selection once over his hamstring injury.
Whelan suspended.
Wheatley had enough of him should be bannished to Sandringham for the rest of the season like C Johnson!

I would dump Carroll because I know that Brown & Bradshaw will beat him easily. Carroll is not a good option. Must be dumped due to his poor form. Carroll has been given too many opportunities and has not yet delivered.

Whelan got 1 week. What rubbish. I would hope if that were the case Thornton would go as well. The judiciary is so inconsistent. I don't think we can drop Carroll if we don't pick Holland. Those two are our only options for Brown. He's too strong for anyone else.

No he isn't....Bailey said nobody has been promoted and that they are leaving it open.(At Neitz press confrence earlier today)

He said there is people on the seniour list who would be picked before him so there is no point in promoting him, But if Valenti's form warented selection he would be promoted.

I will wait for your apology.;):p:D

We should play Frawley at centre half back on Brown. Give the kid some good experience at AFL level. How else is he gonna learn? At least at CHB, physicality isn't as important as it is a FB, so it will come down to his ability to stay with Brown on the lead.

Carroll can stay at full back, which allows Rivers to play his preferred role as third man up. Will be interesting to see if Bailey considers playing Holland. Like I said, I'd prefer to give the task to a young bloke rather than someone on their last legs.

Bell - Carroll - Wheatley
Rivers - Frawley - Sylvia
Davey - Jones - Bruce
Dunn - Miller - Green
Robertson - Newton - Wonaeamirri
White - McDonald - McLean

Moloney - Morton - Bartram - Jamar

I don't think we need a direct replacement for Whelan. When you look at that side, we've bought in Newton and Miller, while losing Whelan and Neitz. Yet we still have enough defenders, plus Bruce, Dunn and Bartram in other areas who can also chip in.

Give Miller another shot at CHF and see what he can do. Newton is a must with Neitz out. No better time to see if he has what it takes than right now. Hopefully he can make some contests and give Robertson, Wonaeamirri, Davey and Green some crumbs.

Praise the good lord, someone with some forward thinking. Spud Frawley should play key position all year as rivers cannot hold an opponent and plays better as our third tall.

If holland is promoted to play in defence i'm going to refuse to watch the game, why bother? Give the kid some experience. Why bother with Holland at all, he’s only on our list because he’s still in contract

The only thing i will argue with is your physicality thing. Frawley, in the short time he spent on Fev on Sunday, did pretty well in one on one's, i'd even say he won a few wrestles. Fevola is appartently 100 kg, so how he gets out muscled by an apparently 82kg kid(according to the mfc website) is anyones guess. Even in that short time, he seemed to handle the physicality better then Carroll.

So why not try frawley on bradshaw, to whom he's more evenly matched for size, and let Carroll & rivers double team brown.

The only issue with that is that bradshaw is white hot and on top of that has kicked something like 16 goals in his past 2 games against Melbourne. But what better test for Frawley.

I say Bailey should "zac dawson" him. It'll show us if he has what it take or needs more time.

I like ur line up, minus Newton from vairous reports he has gotten injured or suspended. Even if fit i wouldn't want him in the side. Would love to see valenti come in for wheelan (dont think it will happen tho) and miller is obvious for nieta. But could be a chance but think he will be saved for next week, have a bad feeling that Garland will find his way into the team some how someway.

I wouldn't mind Garland getting another shot, he's burnt at Sandy two weeks in a row and done everything he can to push for selection. I'd prefer though that this time around he's given game time up forward. We've all noticed how lost at sea he seems down back, give him a shot playuing as an attacking forward. He's got a good kick on him, and while he's still a skinny little thing, he's got a bit of height.
