View Full Version : Bret BURTON tripping incident being looked at
Just shown on Channel 10 in Melbourne. Attempted trip of trip being looked at by the AFL Match Review Panel. Anyone else see it? He'll be a big loss for the Crows if he's suspended?
Lol, if that's an attempted trip Brett Burton must be the weakest person in the world.
If you're holding someone up by the leg and you can't trip them then you certainly weren't attempting to trip them!
Yes it would hurt Adelaide if he was suspended, but there would be a riot in Adelaide if he got suspended for that compared to what our cousins down the road can get off for.

I still can't believe Bassett got cited last week for an attempted spoil after what went on in the Showdown.

And reprimanded which means found guilty seriously that was ____ed up. The Burton one it wouldn't surprise me it was a bit of a stupid thing to do, not saying there is anything in it but it was still silly.
All clear....
"Other players assessed but not charged included Adelaide’s Brett Burton, Essendon skipper Matthew Lloyd, Geelong’s Josh Hunt and Fremantle’s Jeff Farmer."

You mean they finally reviewed him for kneeing Doughty in the face?:rolleyes:
No, they reviewed him for that bump he delievered which was so not reportable. Can't believe they even looked at it.

I knew they'd never review him for kneeing Doughty in the eye socket!
Nah I don't think the Match Review Panel are into dredging past incidents up to look at them again.

Was actually surprised during the game, pretty sure not even a free kick was given for legging him. Glad to see they threw it out, it wasn't worthy of anything, but I was a little worried as I can't remember who but a player last week got done for a hand trip, and to be honest it wasn't all that much worse than Burton's.

It was Steven Dodd (the bloke that got legged) for an almost identical incident. The only difference was Doddy di not take a big swan dive forward.

Regarding the alleged trip.
No free was paid.
There was no malice in it.
It is nearly Tuesday.
Let's move on!
Saturday will be a ripper. Let's not spoil it with trivia! ;):thumbsu:
