View Full Version : Are We Still Going To Make The Finals??

Quite simply, are we still going to make the finals?

At the start of the year, us and West Coast were equal favourites to win the wooden spoon, now we are both eying a finals birth.

We have St. Kilda (Colonial/Telstra Dome), Freo (Subiaco), Brisbane (Skilled) and Hawthorn (Colonial/Telstra Dome).

We would probably have to win at least 2 games to make it.

If so, where will we finish??

Go Cats!!:)

In my humble and unbiassed opinion, I think we'll finish 5th or 6th with 12 or 13 wins. :)

Yep, the top 4 is made up now, but the bottom 4 is wide open. We should win 3 or our next 4, which will put us into 5th spot, you would think.

Go Cats!:)

I think that we can make the 8.

However if we don't, who would of thought we would of made it this far?

10-8 at this late stage is very impressive in my opinon with such a young team.

I believe we will only get better as the years go on and our young players get more experience.

Although it would be nice to see Geelong in the 8 this year :D

Good points there! As I said earlier us and West Coast were favourites for the wooden spoon, and we are both eyeing a top 8 finish. Hopefully we can make the finals because it would be an invaluable experience for the young guys.

Geez I hope we can make the finals, because to do that from here we will have to win at least 2 more games, which will mean we don't end up like last year by losing the last 6 or so. If this was to happen, all the good work we did through the middle of the season would have been a waste. We were actually gaining some respect for a while there, the trick is to build on that, not capitulate like we did last year and undo it all. Let's hope the North game was "just one of those days".
This week is simply a must win. The old feelings are creeping back, yes these ARE the type of games we have lost in the past. If we can't beat even a much improved St Kilda side we don't deserve finals football. My prediction, it'll be ugly and tight, but it'll be a win. Good record against Freo over there, while their record at home is imposing, and we will go in as underdogs, I am confident that we will roll em. Brisbane, travelling beautifully is not impossible (see game v Melbourne), but I don't think anyone would be expecting a win there. The old nemesis Hawthorn - how many times have this mob done it to us? We finally won a game against Essendon, finally beat a North team with Colbert in it, round 22 will be the time to finally roll the Hawks.
Best result would be to have North 5th, us 6th, WC 7th and Ess 8th. The top 4 can play for the fat rats clacker premiership, NM v Ess would be a ripper and we'd get a Victorian final against WC. I don't think it really matters though, they may as well have a 3 game series grand final, play Port v Brisbane in Brisbane one week, Adelaide the next and finish up at the MCG.

It's kind of funny when you hear Cats fans jumping the gun ?
Top 4, 5 or 6th ?
This is old hat I know but next year, you shouldn't say it's over until it's over.
(If the players thought like some of you Cats fans, no wonder you missed the finals)

How many senior AFL/VFL flags have Geelong won in relation to Carlton.

Karl,

I can't help but think the only reason you keep talking about Geelong is that your own Carlton side doesn't provide you with enough entertainment to keep you interested in them. Do you keep living in the past because the future looks so bad for your team or are you just not intelligent enough to think of anything worthwhile to talk about from the present time?? :D

I don't think I've ever seen someone with such a huge chip on their shoulder as you appear to have!!

Time to move on Karl... Geelong is better for not having you as a supporter and our loss is most definately Carlton's gain!! LMFAO!! :D:D

Go Cats!!

Since Karl's been supporting Carlscum they've gone backwards. They can't go any further backwards, unless they collapse & fold.

Now that would be good. :o

Is it just me or is everyone else having the same problem trying to take what Karl says seriously?? I think he's got about as much credibility as Pauline Hansen would if she was judging the Aboriginal Australian of the Year award!! :D

I got to ask you folks a question ?
Where any of you alive when Geelong won their last flag ?
I've been alive for the 81-82, 87 and 95 glorious Carlton premierships.
Beat that ratio Cat fans !!!

Karl,

I don't know how many times you need to be told that unless you actually supported the team when they won those flags then you can't possibly take anything from them except the fact they're just another statistic!!

A more accurate question would be if I asked you how many flags you've seen the team you supported that season win??? My guess would be none!! :D:D

And how many young people's lives has Gary Ablett destroyed and how many people commiteed suicide or faced finacial ruin because of David Clarke.
I've got a clean record compared to those bums.
Carna Blues.

Karl,

It's not even worth responding to crap like that, nore it is worth you continuing to litter our board with your absolute trash when you have nothing of relevance to say to anyone associated with the Geelong Football Club or it's fans. I would advise you to concentrate on your own club or find something better to do with your otherwise pathetic life.

Be warned...

PS: I wouldn't be going around saying that in public if I were you Karl. ;)

Karl you are a frigging tool. If you had a brain you would be a serious threat to society, as it is you are just a joke.

David Clarke's personal life has nothing to do with the Geelong Football Club and if my memory serves me correctly he was actually cleared of having done anything wrong when Pyramid went under.

I have so much more to say but honestly it is like talking to a brick wall except the wall would probably have more inteligence and give out a better conversation.

I'm going to do some work........
