Hey guys was just wondering with the precedent set with Patrick Dangerfield playing for the Geelong Falcons whether we should consider playing Callan Ward with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup Round 5 fixture. There is a split round in the VFL(and reserves) and so it would be a choice between playing TAC Cup or no football that weekend (provided he is not playing with the Dogs).
VFL Round 5- Sunday 27th April, Williamstown vs North Ballarat
TAC Cup 5 - Saturday 3rd May, Calder Cannons vs Western Jets
VFL Round 6 - Sunday 11th May, Williamstwon vs Sandringham
thoughts.

sure why not. every game of football for this kid will surely help him devolep.
Depends on how his body is holding up. First pre-season and a few rounds in may mean he is feeling it a bit, so a rest could be good for him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing in a bulldogs jumper by then.

Its a completely different circumstance. Dangerfield (great name btw) is playing TAC cup cos he wanted to finish school in Geelong before moving over to Adelaide.

Clearly there is no benefit with Ward playing for the Jets this season. Far better for him to train with the Dogs and Williamstown.
Dangerfield circumstances are very different. He was very clear with the clubs that he would complete his year at his current school before committing to his new team.
no by then the kid will need a rest, and his development will be quicker playing against harder older bodys
