Any Fear Factory fans here bought this cd yet??

Its their first ever cd that was produced in 1990 by Ross Robinson (the first cd he produced too) that came out before Soul Of A New Machine.

Very Raw. Very good.

Go get it if your into raw metal early FF style.

Thanks for the tip, as I've been waiting to see if anyone would comment on it...

Does it sound at all like any of their stuff like Obsolete, as I really like that album. Either way, when I get some $$$, I shall pop out and get it!

Massive Fear Factory fan and am ashamed to admit i didnt know this album existed.

Ross Robinson produced? Sound svery interesting considering the sounds on the last 4 albums. I like the sounds of a "raw" sounding Fear Factory album.

Off to JB i go...

hehe nah mate. Obsolete sounds like P.O.D compared to this. Like there is minimal production on this record. Production quality is about the same as Panteras first album....VERY raw!!!!
Youll love it.

Its basically speed metal with death metal vocals

Awesome mate, thanx for the mini-review. I'll definately be getting it very, very soon.

Pi$$ christ reminds me of something to do with Machine Head for some reason. I notice a few tracks but that one stands out. O can recall "Burn My Eyes" had lyrics from a Fear Factory album (Demanufacture?) and for some reason that one rings a bell.

What's Soulfly's new one like? Not sure if I want to get it as I thought his first two were a little below par, but it this one has recieve decent reviews.

Picked up Concrete. Need to play it on my stereo which is in my room or in my car rather than on my computer's crappy little speakers, but so far the production sounds shytful. Musically though, its probably the most brutal thing i've heard from Fear Factory, including Soul of a New Machine. Need anoter few listens.

And CBH, i got 3 the day it came out and must admit i got sick of it pretty quickly. First few listens pleased me as it sounded a bit more progressed than the forst 2 Soulfly Albums, but you soon get a little over the whole D-tuned/tribal thing. The playing on it is awesome, i'll give him/them that and i repsect Max for branching out in some regards (one song, 'Tree of Pain' has a chick singing duet style on it) but i just couldnt get into it as much as Roots and the like (**** i wish he was still with Sepulura. First Max/Sepultura. Now Carey/North. What next?! :( )

Tis a crying shame about Max/Sepultura. I read an interview where Max said he hasn't talked to Igor in years, so we can pretty much rule all that out. And Derrick Green is no good as his vocals aren't much and the band is now only one guitar, where it loses all it's aggression.

Soulfly can have good stuff (Jump da F*ck up is Awesome!) but then have that crappy tribal stuff, and only four strings limits them. They can play some mean stuff, but it get's too repetitive.

And damn I need a new job - I aint got any money to get all these new CD's! :(

I like 3 so far. Listened to it quickly and its better than the other 2 albums theyve put out. Also better than anything Sepultura has done recently as well.

I like the fact that its different. Would get pretty boring if all new music sounded the same.

I didnt particuarly like Primitive much...only found a couple of good songs on there, and 3 is much better. Heaviest stuff hes done at Soulfly.

The production is shytful on Concrete...but thats the joy of it....it sounds similar to SOANM. Im in love with it!!!

Heard about the album a few months ago - definietly sounds interesting, and a helluva lot better than the slop they've dished out on their last couple.

Thanks for the review Macca.
(I'll pass on the Soulfly though thanks! urgh!;) )
