I know its negative but our season is over, we need to seriously assess all players over the next 17 games and decide which players will be apart of our next premiership side and which will not, i think bailey can be the man to make the tough cuts too our list and bring in more youth

neitz is in his last season and tonight he seemed very determined to play out his last few games at the end of this season to show the younger players at the club exactly how to be a champion player and leader, in the meantime i believe the captaincy should be shared amongst the leadership group, make everyone in it accountable for every game they play by leading from the front

then at the start of next years pre-season give the captaincy to brock, give him it early so that he has experience when we are a force in a few years, by giving it to him at the start of the pre-season he should be inspired to have a massive pres-season and he should hopefully next year become the untaggable, consistant, match winning, leader we all know he can be.

apart from all this i want to see some flying of the flag, no cheap shots like miller against north or moloney against carlton, if an oppostion player tackles late or pushes a melbourne player into the ground after a tackle i want to see the melbourne player get up and shove him back, make him know that he we will no longer be pushed around, i am quite happy to see others come in and help this teammate fly the flag and am even happy to see a brawl, its time our club hardened the f*&k up and the best way to do this is to show the football world if u push us around we push back harder!!!

The long and short of it is play the youngins.

This year we should see plenty of the following players where possible:
Buckley
Jones
Bartram
McLean
Bate
Frawley
Morton
Sylvia
Dunn
Petterd
Maric
Garland:o
Bell
Weetra
Newton
Martin
Valenti

We can't keep playing 28+ year olds and continually get thumped, that's simply treading water. The only way we can look to improve next year is to give these blokes, who will be the core of our team in years to come valuable senior experience.

In terms of the future, we need to cleanout deadwood obviously and we need to draft a quality ruck (Natatooooooooooeeeyyyyyyy!!! would be a good start) and some class in the midfield, as we already have an abundance of hardness in the midfield.

Lastly the likes of White, Neitz and Yze may be moved on BUT FFS KEEP THEM AROUND THE CLUB we need to start building a culture of helping one another out at this club. Their experience and leadership will be invaluable to such a young playing group. We need more past players getting involved!!

1) Find a BLOODY CAPTAIN
2) Play everyone in different postions to what they are used to, ie: sylvia in the backline looks like a good move.
3) Keep working towards the game plan what ever that might be
4) WIN A GAME
5) Have more recruiters and talent scouts looking for talent than any other club
6) Take out a loan and put it on number 00 at the casino on roulette so we actually make money this year.
7) Have the cheer squad go to sandringham to keep the spirit up at afl games.
8) Dont rush players like frank grimes back from injury, let him sit out the year if we have too.
9) Take brent moloney to a brothel so he can get all that built up anger out of him with a good root.
10) SEND NEITA OFF IN STYLE WITH ONE OF THE HARDEST, TAKE NO PRISONERS GAMES YOUR EVER GOING TO SEE FROM THE WHOLE LIST.

white deserves at least another year after this one, still manages to find lots of the ball(but still makes some terrible decisions when he gets it)

i think it would be good for a young ruckman if we draft one to see his work rate around the ground

Where do I start.

I think everyone is well aware of some of the 30+ players finishing up and the fact we need ot play our youngsters... see CD's great post.

I am generally happy with off field arrangements but I am not sure about this guy (http://melbournefc.com.au/TheClub/Coaches/CoachProfile/tabid/8654/coachId/134/teamId/31/Default.aspx?coachId=136) as a forward coach. In fairness we haven't had much to play with and we are behind the 8-ball but we have 17 weeks and a pre-season to work on our forward structure. Defence looks like it will solidify as the year goes on and the midfield should improve too but I am not sure we have thre right guy for our forward setup. Time will tell.

That is funny (but true) 2 years ago all we were talking about was Melbournes need to find tough in & under players & that we had too much outside players who were quality finishers.

Now we have the in & under type players & have lost a lot of the quality finishing that rewards the work of hard players.

The world keeps on spinnin.

It makes you go cross eyed doesn't it.

We have a lot of ruckman on our list, White, Jamar, Johnson, Meeson, Martin and i'm sure there is one more but i can't remember who. Our number one draft pick needs to be a tall strong power forward like a brown or fevola. Newton is good but i would like to see him at CHF. We lack physical strength. I agree with CD on the culture part. How awesome would it be to see 80000+ people there to see Neitz off. Next year starts this year and should start with the fans getting along and supporting them. Neitz deserves a massive crowd. He is one of the most respected footballers around.

in this world we live in we face many battles many problems good and bad. you need to go backwards to go forwards. you need to spend money to make money, you learn from your mistakes. so don't get shitty with our club, support them. this is actually an exciting time for the melbournefc. in the next 2 seasons we need to finish last to go anywhere. we need 8 top 20 picks in the next 2 years at least, we'll get brand new facilities in a brand new stadium plus a bonus summer training ground. so put up a good fight deez but just finish short at full time for future sucesss. GO DEEZ 2010 AND BEYOND

Spencer would be the last one your thinking about, rookie listed.

I still don't know how anyone drinks that crap. Personally I fill a 600ml coke bottle with as much bourbon as I think I need to watch our team, chuck it in my jeans pocket with my Melbourne top over it then just buy a couple of cokes in there and drink the memory of being at the game away.
