So with Richmond supporters coming over to our board, and not going to post it on theirs in fear of red cards again.
How many clangers do you think we'll see from Richard Tambling this week?
I'm going to go out and say 7.

Mate i dont know if you have seen Tambling this year but he has been really good for us especially the last 2 weeks. He has been avg close to 20 touches a game and a goal a game.
Look we all know buddy is a star and wish him and Hawthorn all the best but it is time to move on and i am 100% sure Tambling will be a gun midfielder.
This is his first year where he has played in his natural position and he has been awesome and its been highlighted in the media aswell. He is 2nd in Inside 50s for us and leading our tackling.
I can guarantee by the end of the year he will be known as a star midfielder.
Good Luck for this week. :thumbsu:

There was one moment in the game last week that showed how seriously they took Tambling. There was a free and Tambling played on advantage from CHB and ran about 15-20m with not one Bulldog player near him or even running towards him.

He actually hasnt been too bad the last few weeks haha. He has found some confidence, but all it takes is a couple big tackles on Bling and then he doesnt want to go near it again.

So Franklin's a better player at the same age, we get it! We're not blind. Is Franklin better than Roughead? Who did you pick first? Hindsights an amazing thing.......(cough)Gary ablett senior ring any bells?(cough)

When did I mention Franklin or comparing the two? I just posed the question of how many clangers he'll have.

What about him? He left the Hawks to play in the bush, He couldnt handle the big smoke ... Cant say he is the first Ablett to do so hey. When he came back he went to Geelong , we had no choice in the matter... there wasnt anything like drafts and trading at that time. SO again what about him?

I am personally enveous of Tambling.
I saw the highlights of the weekends action on Austar, and as a spectator, he gets to watch all the action close up.

Exactly so you know what it's like to get a player that struggled to find his feet but in time he turned it around, not in any way saying Tambling is Ablett but Richies taking time to adjust to the city and hopefully we'll see him step up soon.

Ah the clanger kid
Last time i saw him he tried to weave his way though an opponent, realised he had not the pace or skill, and dished it to his team-mate who was within 2 meters of an opposition player. think it was against freo of the dogs.
Average player.

i love it how Bling is now getting 15-20 possies a games...but Buddy has raised the bar again and is having 15 shots on goal a game.
I can't wait till Bling gets a 30+ game. Buddy will be walking on water by that stage

Lovely work.
He has improved.
Can any Richmond folk identify where he is specifically playing? Is it as a wingman, HFF, rover?

Why do you have to fake cyber coughs, I find that sadder than Richmond on the bottom of the ladder! It is generally irrelevant who was picked when and where in the draft, the draft is picked based on teams needs aka Port Adelaide are not gonna pick Kreuzer in the draft when they have Brogan and Lade. Not all #1 and #4 draft picks turn out to be guns take Tambling and Deledio as an example!
Clear examples of the flaws in the draft are this: Mitchell taken around pick 30, and Williams taken around pick 40, they are clear guns (however Mark Williams is a shotgun)! When you put these players together they are better than 10 Tamblings clones! So it doesn't matter if we took Roughead first or last, he is going to be 10x the player Tambling and Deledio are put together x5!!! Not our fault Buddy is stealing all the spotlight with his uncanny abilities!!!

Cough all u like mate, I was quite happy with Dunstall and Dermie during that era pretty sure those two won a few more flags than ol mate Gazza snr too from memory.
And who did Richmond have??? Do you even know?
Hindsight is an amazing thing especially considering you missed out on Franklin twice, and we had the brains to get him the second time around.
Don't bother coming here and having a dig at our picks mate, ul only end up with egg on ya face!

I just can't wait for another Tambling goal celebration (a la Collingwood a couple of weeks ago) when he puts one through to narrow the Hawthorn lead to 12 goals.
The kid is, to date a spud. I'll grant you that he is an improving spud....but he's still a spud nonetheless.

We picked Roughy with pick 2 because we know you guys would have chosen him with pick 4 if qw left him. So this way we got to have buddy and roughy instead of Buddy and some1 else.
There was no way Richmond would have been smart enough to select buddy at 4, so we knew he would slip through to us at 5.

Id love to really hard tag him all day. Seeing him touchless last year was hilarious. Put Timmy Clarke on him and see how he goes.

Might want to look at one of your own in terms of players stuffing up. Jordan Lewis 2 games played 16 errors in total or 8 per game. Richie in comparison 5 games played 16 errors in total or 3.2 per game. Could understand Lewis making errors if he was under pressure in contests but seeing as he is a uncontested ball winner (1 CP per game), to be making so many stuff ups must be a worry.

I like Tambo, I hope he does well for my brothers sake (he's a long suffering Tiger supporter).
I wish people would stop comparing draft picks though, it's not like any of us knew Buddy would turn out to be this good!
Players like Tambling and Deledio (who I think are very talented footballers) will always find it hard to reach their potential as long as their a part of a struggling team. I mean look at Rodan, he was crap when he played for the Tigers, he's been able to shine at Port who are a pretty good team!
Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth!
Hope we smash the Tigers on Sunday and I hope Tambling has a shocker!

lids would have averaged 25 pos a game over last 3 weeks, Tambo 17-20..they're coming along ok for 21yo

its all fun making all these jokes about tamberling, but i kinda feel sorry for him becuase he does have talent but its taken a bit longer than others..
i remember all those comparisons when hodge and judd came along and hodge was no way near as good as judd was in his 1st couple of year, and i just felt for the guy who took the postion of hawthorns prodical son in croad .....from that freo trade incase you are wondering.....

It was good to see how defensive Richmond fans got over something so little. Was posted simply because of the reaction I'd get, something like above. Worked prett well.
I've changed my mind. He'll have 4 clangers from 6 touches.
Yeah Yeah we suppose your drafting has been spot on ha.Harry Miller and Luke Brennan both taken early were are they now or Dowler at 6 who has had no impact at all or Ellis at 4 who hasnt shown anything to warrant that number or Muston another one taken injury prone.Every club has got them so please dont be such hypocrites.

Mate, just a few comments on those:
Harry Miller: Pick 25 in a crap draft...meh
Brennan: We concede the mistake...it was a crap draft as well, but wrong pick nontheless
Dowler: Of course he has had no impact - due to his injury he pretty much started a year later, and most importantly, he hasnt played in the seniors bc we dont need him right now
Ellis: Umm...please watch some games...he is beginning to show why he was taken at pick. 3....going to be an absolute gun!
Muston: Could still come back....but bear in mind he was taken at pick. 22, and we had already used 4 picks before him, so it was quite a reasonable gamble to take on a kid who was touted as the best player after the first 7 rounds of the TAC comp.
So I really fail to see how our picks above should be classified in the same category of "screwed up draft picks" as yours?

People need to lighten up and realise it's a bit of a joke to stir up Richmond a little. We've all seen the improvement in Tambling and hope it continues. What's wrong with a bit of banter leading upto the game, which hopefully isn't a blow out eitherway.

You're probably right. Apologies. :)
After salivating about Buddy's athletic form at Terry's Tuesday, I'm doubtful that Tambling will even get a game. I thought Wallace was going to blow his load he was giving Buddy such a build up.
(It's funny when people build up a player to try to put them off and then they carve their team up. Matthews tried it and he'd reaped the Buddy Whirlwind!)

He'd have to get the ball 10 times to have 10 clangers, wouldn't he.
