does Jacko have a bee in his bonnet about our club? After watching TF today it looks to me like he was deliberately misleading in some of the things he said on Saturday night.
I missed that part. What did he say?
On saturday night he claimed that essendon only wanted the vet rule changed so we can draft Carey and that if sheeds didn't like, too bad. When asked about it Sheeds wondered where he got his information from as the club has never mentioned that at all. The entire tone of the interview struck me as being one of sinking the boots in.
He also claimed that "the clubs" wanted the father son rule changed when it's quite obvious from the reporting of it that very few if any of the melbourne based clubs wanted this.

There was a story in the Herald Sun on Friday suggesting that the rule change would end the Bombers hopes of recruiting Carey. I think Sheedy came out on the same day and blasted the rule change and claimed that the rule was changed by the AFL to make it easier for Sydney to recruit Carey.
I would say that it is not too much of a stretch for Jackson to say Essendon thought the rule change would make it easier for them to draft Carey, although it is a bit of a stretch to say that is the only reason they wanted the rule changed.
Anyway I only came here to see if you could keep Peruka on your own board as he/she is about as welcome on the North board as a trolling Collingwood (or North for that matter) supporter would be here. Having said that I will leave.

You guys got a huge chip on your shoulders. The AFL don't hate you.
Lucky we play in the AFL comp not the NRL, they changed the guidelines for teams to play a few years ago, and merged teams and wiped them out. AFL aint that bad.
NRL=don't know, don't care.
Sorry but that's the way it is.
The veterans rule should be changed anyway and not just because of Essendon.
Any player who has played more than 10 years senior footy at one club, should be helped to stay there and not be priced out of the market.
Remember when players used to play all their career in the one jumper...the same one as their dad, uncle or brother wore.
Geeze it would be great if the AFL socialists engineered the rules to encourage those kinds of outcomes.

The players are the ones who are out pricing themselves. All they have to do to stay is stay. If they love playing at a team and are on 300,000 per season, why not stay. Why play at Carlton or whatever for 400,000. The problem is a personal decision one. You willo find a lot of players stay cause they love what they do where they do it. Don't blame the veterans rule on some greedy players. Hird would never leave Essendon, no matter what. Nor would Voss leve or Jackovich leave or Bradley etc.
I think the rule should be the same, leave it be.

Did he say that? I thought he only said the AFL wanted Carey in Sydney without linking the two. Having said that I don't read the HUN.

I didn't say the AFL hated us. I believe that Jakcon has a personal dislike for Sheedy and that he is not professional enough to set aside when carrying out his job as AFL CEO. Not the AFL, it's figurehead.

I agree with you here Dave, I am sick of supporters from a lot of clubs coming on here & bagging our club, but soon as a Bomber goes on their site they cut up sick.
Simple rule people, all team boards will accept your comments as long as they aren't trolls or slagging, but if other clubs supporters come here to troll, then expect to receive the same treatment on your board, if your members can't respect our board, then don't expect our members to respect your board.
