As the metero-sexual craze sweeps over the AFL, practically 80% of all players are wearing white, beige, red, blue, gold etc. boots.
From our team the only ones I can think of who don the original black pumas are Brad Sewell and Brent Guerra.
This current trend of white boots was set by Chris Johnson, Justic Leppitsch and Mal Michael during the dominant Brisbane days, and was originally only worn by gun players.
These days, anyone and everyone wears them including first game players and terrible ruckmen who have no foot skills.
I can't imagine the boot companies are too upset by it all as it brings more exposure to what type of boots players are wearing. It's with this success that I would love to see some of the best Hawthorn players (Buddy, Crawf, Hodgey and co) don modernised versions of the famous Yellow Boots worn by Hawthorn Champions in the 70s and 80s.
It would be a great promotion for Heritage Round if Puma could make boots in hawthorn colours. I'd f*ckin buy them!

If anyone has a photo of all the hawks players lined up in their gold boots (think it was pre-game in a grand final), can you please post it.
