A few come to mind

Alex jesaulenko, Shaun Smith, Ashley Sampi, Gary Moorcroft.

For me i think Gary Moorcrofts was the best and most entertaining.
Partly because it was taken on Brad Johnsons Back. :thumbsu:

Silvagni on the wing at the G is my all time favourite.

Of course I am partial to so Nicky Winmar and Trevor Barker as well, but SOS's was just quality.

You know you have seen the best mark ever when the opposition supporters are Collingwood supporters and they stand up out of their seats en masse and applaud.

Plenty of marks may be put forward but this is THE best mark in recorded history:

This one managed to get both Graham Cornes and Leigh Matthews excited:

Brett Allison
Shaun Smith
Ashley Sampi

For sheer vertical leap and standing on a bloke's shoulders, Winmar was amazing

Shaun Smith's at the Gabba by a mile!!!!

Feet on shoulders with no hands, none of this knee business!

And it was over Garry Lyon :-)

Not much between them

Smith chest mark, fairly hard.

Allison overhead mark, very hard.

I like Winston Abraham's

Allison's was ridiculous too

shaun smith for vertical leap but the chest mark prevents it from being as good as it could've been

Aaron Edwards at the G or Michael Newton at Nth Melb

People should factor in that the camera angle from high in the old Northern stand does not do the Allison mark the justice it deserves. The camera is looking down on the mark at an appreciable angle.

Moorcroft from 2001 was fantastic.

I think sampi's is underrated because he made it look simple, he didn't fall over or anything.

Athletic, graceful, poised, balanced, courageous, brilliant. This is the greatest mark of all time and what taking a specky is all about. Magnificent.

1. Moorcroft v Bulldogs 2001

2. Sampi v Melbourne 2004

3. Daylight

Moorcrofts mark is one of the great moments of footy of the decade I reckon. If I were to introduce the game to a new viewer I would show them that mark and the 06 grand final. Both perfect exponents of what our game is about.

Moorcroft easy I reckon.

If you pause it at the right moment, he's basically horizontal 2 metres above the ground.

Epic.

I agree with mick13 because he is a total loser and no one likes him.

WINSTON ABRAHAM. whenever he was postioned behind a contest you felt something special was about to unfold.
