Im not sure if you know but in the papers and on the web it is being reported that Higgins will not play for another 10-13 weeks. I have heard from the person who looked at hsi x-rays and have been told and i have asked around and i can gaurantee that Shaun HIggins will not play again this year. Sorry if u already knew that

Funny, I spoke with Shaun on Friday & he said his surgeon is pleased with how the operation went & is on target to resume around round 16. Either way it's a long time to be out. Doesn't do things in half measures does Shaun!

If he comes back through the two's and plays the last couple he shoud be peachy for the finals.

Yeah, but why would you believe Shaun? What would he know about his ankle?

Surely someone who spoke to someone who asked around and spoke to the someone who looked at Shaun's X-ray would know much more.

Hard to argue with that! ;)

Especially if that someone looked at the x-ray before the surgery. Everyone knows that a person who reads an x-ray is a specialist for knowing comeback timetables.

BTW thanks for the info TCD

no need to be patronising everyone, blueinblood's info was new(at least to me) until tcd enlightened us.

Do we want realiable info or just random things that some guy who talked to some guy said?

It would not surprise me. One of my mates had an ankle reco several years ago and it is still stuffed. I broke my ankle 4 years ago and I still have issues with it. Ankles are not a good injury at all.

I dislocated my ankle in 1979 and its never been the same - I was still limping 6 months later and could not run properly for 2 years. I had to give footy away and then starting tennis.

Hopefully Shaun's isnt that bad, but I cringed when I saw the replay. I wish him a speedy recovery - he was really starting to show much promise and we have missed some of his class.

Doesn't matter if he plays again this year or not. His fitness base will be so poor he won't touch it when he plays anyway.

The only bonus would be he'd be ready for a full pre-season.

Maybe not. If he can still swim he'll be able to maintain a fair bit of fitness, it'll be a few weeks in the reserves then back into the seniors.

Any hope of getting him into the midfield rotation would be gone, but he could play as a forward pocket surely...?
