View Full Version : Fev to the Crows
Out of contract in a few months i believe.
Would the crows make a serious bid for him?
Would would be put on the table...
I'd love to see it!
Offer ken mc, jericho, plus draft pick for him - would that be enough?

all this came up last year, Adelaide and Roo said he would need to understand the Adelaide policies and culture. which kind of ruled him out straight away. there is no way fev would behave himself in Adelaide. in any town for that matter.
Too little too late - should have gone for him 6 months ago - now he's playing like a star and has got his sh## together he won't leave Carlton - and they won't let him go.

We already have a superstar full forward (in the making)
His name is walker texas ranger. 11 goals in three games in the SANFL. He plays as well as he has been for the next month all of a sudden he will be replacing maric in the "get him in the side threads" :p
It will surely take more than k-mac, jericho and a draft pick. And after the form that rendell has shown in the last draft (one of our best ever ;)) why would we give up an early pick in what is being labelled a very strong first round?
Plus carlton, although i hate to say it, actually are starting to look like a unit that could win more than 3 games a year. Hopefully one of those three is not this weekend. Would fev really want to move? Although the tempation to play along side the one they call Van Berlo is tempting.

Fev's happy right where he is. :)
If you want to offload Jericho and Mcgregor onto us, we'll take Rutten and Thompson to counter act those two. ;)

Rutten and Thompson would make your team a Premiership side.
You got your A-class Fullback.
You got your hard at it experienced Midfielder.
But alas, no your can't have them lmao. And you can't have Jericho either, he experienced a career changing event in the showdown.

Fev to the Crows is never going to happen. Why bother starting a thread over it. I'd rather see the Crows develop Tippett & Sellar into gun forwards.

Haha you got it right there.
I think that Kenny+jerico and a draft pick sounds good; even if we cant get him we have the Texas Ranger comming along:)

Isn't it a bit early for the "We'll give you absolute bugger all but we'll throw in a draft pick for your key player" discussions?

I don't mind these speculative threads, but can we not insult the other Club by throwing out trade suggestions which are laughable?
Imagine of Carlton came to us and said will give you O'Hailpin and a Round 2 Draft pick for Chris Knights; we'd rightly tell them to ____ off.

I doubt Fev would want to leave. His best football will always be at Carlton.

That's one thing you could never criticize him for. He is very loyal to the club.
Thing is though, if a one year contract is offered then he has a right to be pissed off about it and refuse to sign unless he gets something better.

I heard Buddy Franklin wants to come to the Crows on a rookie contract and Hawthorn is willing to thrown in a first rounder if we trade Kenny McGregor.

Anyone will always appear to play their best football at Carlton because not many there are that good. Standing out as one of the best at Carlton is, and I use a quote I heard in a movie "like being the smartest person [adapted for BF use...] in a class of disadvantaged people." ;)

Yeah lets give Pfeiffer away for free to them for discipline issues as a teenager and then trade up for Fev, a fully matured idiot.
Happy to persist with Tippett, Sellar, Walker, Hentschel, Burton, Goodwin and to a lesser extent - McGregor and Gill as our major target forwards for at least the time being.

The Fevolator is always only one drink away from pissing off Calton, so we have hope...
His track record off field does not bother me,his game is great so lets go flat out and get him here.

If I was Fev I'd be pretty happy being spoon-fed the ball for the next 2-3 years from Judd, Stevens and Murphy.

If I'm not mistaken, the year Pagan took over at the Blues Fev was just about to sign for us. Back then he wasn't a star, just a handy player at best. We traded Eccles for Massie instead because Pagan apparently thought Fev was a good talent. The next year, Fev goes on to be a star. We had our chance... it was just than Pagan stepped in. Massie is a handy player, much better than Eccles, but is obviously no Fev.

by spoon fed what do actually mean?
do you believe that any midfield should make it difficult for their major goal kicker to do his job?
spoon fed jason dunstall spoon fed tony modra spoon fed tony lockett is that what you mean?;)

Err... yes, that's exactly what I mean.
Dunstall said that at times he was laughing to himself when Darren Jarman delivered the ball to him because he knew the kick left the defender with no chance whatsoever. Gary Ablett snr has said something similar about Paul Couch.
Not saying that these blokes weren't champions because they were. But playing at full forward with a quality midfield who deliver the ball well is every forwards wet dream. Carlton has the makings of a brilliant midfield so I was asking why would Fevola want to leave years of potential pin-point delivery behind behind to come to a team of "long bombers" and scatter-gun kicks like Thompson and Knights?

We don't need fev anymore, we drafted players to fix our forward line over the next 2 years.
Sellar, Walker, Tippett.
No need.

The Eccles/Massie trade took place in 2001. Back when Wayne Britain was Carlton's coach.

Would've had him at the end of last year... could've offered Torney as part of the deal rather then just dump him.
Don't want Fev now. We've got too much talent coming through the ranks to jeopardise our chances, now and in the future, by taking in a renegade like Fev (who wouldn't fit in our current forward line) and giving up masses in potential.
