Who is the best player in the afl

first of all, it never ceases to amaze me that people constantly compare midfielders and kpp's
i dont think you can compare such different positions, however, if i was to choose who i;d want in my team, without factoring age into the equation, i'd go:
pavlich > Franklin > Brown > Judd > Ablett > Bartel > Kerr
all superstars though and would happily take any of them at port in a straightswap for nathan lonie

I would choose out of the following:
J Brown>Kerr>Franklin>Bartel>Judd>Ablett>Pavlich
You can't rate different players that play in different positions.
I would also rate Chad Cornes in that group and choose him over Bartel placing him 4th in that list.
Different positions mean different players.

Just cause a bloke wins a brownlow, doesn't mean he's necessarily one of the elite players in the game. Shane Woewodin won one, as did Libba.
These players didn't:
Leigh Matthews
Wayne Carey
Ted Whitten
Gary Ablett Snr
Arguably the 4 best players to have played the game.
Anyway, back to the thread - J Brown, L Franklin, M Pavlich, Judd, Ablett, Bartel Kerr. Now this probably seems harsh on Kerr, but I like the other guys better. KPP players are more irreplacable than midfielders.

Really, it's Franklin and/or Ablett at the moment. None of those other players at the moment are the best in the competition. Well, not yet... it could very well change.

Brown isn't even the best forward in the competition at the moment. Hell, Bradshaw is better than him as a forward at the moment - and he'd probably be just behind Fev and Franklin in terms of form.
