Happened to pop down to training today for most of the session.

Gill, Otten, Hentschel, Stevens, Kite, van Berlo, Campbell and Gallman were all doing light work. So that means back in the main group were Knights, Massie, Moran, Reilly, Cook, Jericho, Curnow and Petrenko. Cook came off once before returning for a minute and then going off again. Jericho didn't do everything, but was back in his guerney. van Berlo joined in for the main game style drills.

As usual they started off with the warm up. After they did some light drills then seperated into three main groups. One bunch were in the 50 mainly working on goal kicking, which was good to see, but had a variet of things happening at once. Down towards the other 50, two seperate groups were working on moving the ball over a fairly short distance, mainly by kicking and with defence opponents.

The main game style drill was similar to last week, although the players did leave half way through to head back into the rooms as if it was half time during a real game. Shortly after they came out I had to leave... so that's about it for today :thumbsu::)

The first part of training didn't quite so taxing on some of the players, while those in the midfield group probably would have been feeling the heat a bit.

Headed down to training today to have a look. Im not going to post a report, as ive got the feeling the C*G will trump me even if i do, so heres some random observations...

- van Berlo didnt do the whole session with the main group, spent a fair bit of time running on his own. Might be carrying an injury...

- Knighta and Massie did the whole session. Both look fit.

- Reilly is training with the cast on... once the bones heal will have no problem with fitness.

- Jacky is a crazy bugger of a tackler. Hasnt shown it in games yet, but noone could get past him in the tackling drill at training. They paired him up with Douglas and McKay, and he caught both with ease.

Thanks for the report C*G and STO... Just one question.

Based on the photos it looks like Griff & Sellar could both do with some time in the gym. Also, do you think having blue skin is a good sign for these youngsters???

Griffs height (approximately 50 metres) will make up for his apparent need of food. My picture proves that Sellar is good.

Blue skin is a sign of virility, or so ive been led to believe.

IMO, if he is carrying an injury that would explain why vB is off the boil.

- Knighta and Massie did the whole session. Both look fit.

Great news - I thought Knighta was doing OK before he was injured; even his field kicking looked sweet.

- Reilly is training with the cast on... once the bones heal will have no problem with fitness.

Is there likelihood of Radar playing with an AFL approved arm guard?

Perhaps Jacky shouldve worn a Hawk jumper and fronted Bock;)

Slim to nil. He was noticably not using the arm... hed catch everything in the other, and throw the ball rather than handball.

Talking about fame – C*G have you been summons to Bill Sander office for your scathing remarks regarding Kenny McGregor?

Did anyone read that crap by Rucci in his roast today that Bill Sanders said that any staffer who works in the media that if they make any inappropriate remarks about the club or player may get sacked? Well now that you are a professional blogger, you may get the royal summon. :D:D

Well spotted football pal. Drummond seems to think his tackling is an issue but many have said Jacky comes across as an exciteable character, which seems to be coming out in just the early stages for him at AFL level and affecting things like sticking the tackles. We'd all be pretty confident it won't be an issue with more game time if that is the case.

also good to see Moran will be playing SANFL this week...might be pushing for a spot soon enough as well.

Excellent news. Would make Adelaide more willing to use the extra tall since there will be a fourth fit backup.

VB must surely be injured. He’s hasn’t been completing or going at full capacity in our main training sessions and I also remember Andrew Jarman saying on Channel 10 that VB shouldn’t have played against Hawthorn (along with Bassett and one other) because they weren’t fit. So VB must be playing through the pain. If so, he’s doing a pretty good job and it would explain his lack of form.

Are you getting Douglas and Jacky confused? I don’t recall saying Jacky’s tackling is an issue.

Being on the reduced workload is a pretty clear indication hes carrying a niggle. He did have his best game so far this year against Freo though, so hopefully hes over the worst, and they're just resting him from full training as a precaution.

I believe it was you who made a comment about his tackling after the NAB Cup when some Collingwood players slipped tackles. Could have been someone else...

I know you're concerned with his depth of kick....from what I have seen he can kick from around the 50.
