I posted this poll before the season and i will post i again now and at the end of the year. Both teams st on 2 wins with Carlton just ahead on percentage. Both have introduced completely differnt game plans. So if your club sacked its coach and you had to pick one of teh two who would it be?

Knights.
It was the most disgraceful coaching performance I have ever seen by a senior AFL/VFL coach on Anzac Day. Kevin Sheedy would still be laughing to himself.
Knights is the better coach
Why?
Because you beat us, right?

Not quite the ANZAC day catastrophy, but again, complete disaster by the Albino. Kevin Sheedy should be re-instated as head coach and Essendon administrators should hand their resignations in. Disgraceful.
I've been impressed with Knights so far. A lot of people expected the Bombers to be bottom four this year, however he has got a lot out of them so far I think.
Yes I realise they are only sitting on two wins, however they have played good footy, and losing Lucas hasn't helped them much.
I think its still too early to tell yet. Can you even tell whos a better coach after one season? I think both have been good so far, and if they keep it up, we could be having this same conversation in 5 years, which both teams would be happy with I'm sure.
Knights was a "left overs" coaching appointment, made because he was the only candidate that agreed with their boards avoidance of the tough list management issues. Result: Still no midfield, and an accelerating implosion. A complete disaster. Not surprised. :)

14 blokes on the list unfit has nothing to do with it though does it Parrot?:) Did you happen to see the results of the poll?

Ratten got knocked back by Healsville in the Yarra Valley Mountain District League hardly a great endoresment of his prowess. :D Then coached a 2nd Divy Eastern side with little success.

Ratten got overlooked by Healsville in the Yarra Valley Football league so the only door left for him was to take over the rabble.:D

Yet the Melbourne Football Club appointed him as their midfield coach shortly after he finished his playing career & their midfield played as good footy as any Victorian team at that time. Strangely enough, the Melbourne Football Club were going to interview him for their vacant coaching position, last year, but Ratten withdrew because of his imminent appointment to the Carlton job.
I thought he did a pretty good job of outcoaching one of the most experienced coaches in the AFL, in Round 4. You would probably remember that game.

Surely Knights is better.
After they dumped Sheeds, didnt Essendon announce that they were gonna get the best coach, not just the best coach available. In my book, that means he's better than all other 15 coaches, let alone Ratten.

And boy would they be regretting that now..
Who's going to be left when philosopher Malthouse retires? I wouldn't be laughing if I was you..

Knights is a lot like Clarkson, this is exactly how Hawthorn started when Clarkson took over (were 1-7 and copped some beltings). Knights speaks well and knows what his doing. Still happy with his selection.

Knights is coaching Essendon like he played all offence and no accountablility.............Ratten the opposite, work hard to get it and even harder when you have to get it off the opposition.:thumbsu:

so why did essendon run all over carlton in the last qtr then?!!!
Simple the Bombers were too good for us at that shoot out style of game.............we have tightened up our accountability side of it since then whereas Essendon have kept up the plain old one way football.
Since then we have slowed our game down going forward and are more structured with our entry into 50......enabling us as individuals to be more accountable and also help our defenders out more if we turn the ball over.
