I was just thinking about the whole Franklin going to the Coast thread and it really got me thinking about how important a premiership is.

It got me thinking about Shane. We all see him being a clown on the footy show and he must have a great sense of humor. However he has been in my time of barracking for Hawthorn the biggest asset for us. He has been our face for years and years and has done so much for us. A brownlow, our Capitan for years and our best player for a decade. I always hear Jeff talking about how we are building to win our 10th premiership for hawthorn but really, as i think about it more, i don't want to win one for hawthorn, i want to win one for Shane, because really no one has put more hours into the club then that man.

Because he may seem all happy but i am sure it is killing him that he may walk away without the medal he wants to much.

Look at Bucks and Harvery.... Lets not do it to our Crawf

Franklin is going to the gold coast?

Do you know Port offered Crawf the captaincy to leave Hawthorn and jump ship? And he seriously considered it

We would all like to see Crawf hold up the cup in September. He seems to have found some more enthusiasm over the past couple of seasons and should play on till at least the end of 09.

If he sticks around, he may just get his premiership in the next couple of seasons. Fingers crossed:thumbsu:

Is that on Bay 13 or the main board?

Important thing is that he didn't. I too would love to see Shane win one and not become one of the many Cupless champions of the 90s.

Wouldve been a while ago, he said it in an interview some time last year. Port threw everything at him but he stayed.

That's deliberate

crawf has always been my faveroute player since he took over over no 9 and became our captain..

every body talks up buddy, and every one seems to forget that over all the bad times at hawthorn crawf led our side like a captain should..

he was our best player by miles through the schwab days and he got no help from his team mates so thats is why i think crawf is more happier now becuase he has help from his team mates now..

i hope we can win atleast one flag for him before his time is up...

Yes i feel we owe it to Crawf to win a flag or 2 for him while he's still playing. Who knows, the way we are playing it may even be this year.

i think saying "I dont want to win one for Hawthorn" is saying you dont want to win one at all. I hope to win one for Hawthorn and for shane!

Crawford is the hardest trainer going around.

He has played football for that winning feeling on the last day of the AFL season, never reached it.

He will be very emotional if he gets it. Will this be the first time we see him cry?

Agreed "Uniqie" - we need to win a Flag when Crawf is still around:thumbsu:
