Guys with games against the Hawks Cats and Saints to follow we are potentially looking at being 2 and 6 if lose on Friday.

I am really scared our season could be over within the next month... what makes it worse is it all started with a loss we should never of had against the Lions

No denying it, crucial game to our season's chances.

I think we should lift. We are a better team IMO if playing well.

Should be a cracker to watch such a high-stakes, packed out game :thumbsu:

GO PIES!

If we are 2 and 6 look at it this way. There are arguably only 2 decent drafts left in the next 5 years. After this one they will be raped by the new teams for at least 2 years and after that who knows how much depth will be in them with extra picks coming out. Therefore there could be a worse year to finish low and pick up a couple of good running players. Hope it doesn't happen, but footy is no longer a yearly proposition.

Saints are rubbish. Worry about the other two games.

if we can pinch 2 of the next 4 ,i still think we are in an ok position for the season.

means we have been playing bad but ended up at 4-5

the draw after saints geelong hawks

is dees eagles blues doggies swans they are all winnable
lets hope we hit some form somewhere in the next 2 to three games.

dont know why people are so down and are riding off our season already. sure we have played bad, but if this is the best form we can produce , then sure we are going to be in for a bad year. i still think we have massive room for improvement though, and are playing nowhere near our best.

Agree with this, I really think we will beat Essendon and St. Kilda, and we might even be able to pinch one of Geelong or Hawthorn as well (although we'll have to lift a lot to manage that). If we are 5-4 or 4-5 we are still in a reasonable position. Tomorrow is a must win game for us though.

Yep...............ANZAC Day game is a must win IMO.

Cats and Hawks will be very very tough, not impossible but tough games to win.

Anyhow, if you guys do lose the next three we (Eagles) won't feel so lonely down in 15th place rubbing shoulders with quality company like the Pies:D

We need to win ANZAC day to get a bit of confidence back into the team.

We wouldn't want to lose three in a row heading to the Hawks, Cats and Saints matches.

Yeah.....its weird we are totally missing the heart/belief.

Even the usual culprits aka legends from last year Pendlebury/Thomas and Cloke are kind of quiet. I think perhaps the loss of Buckley is being felt more than is apparent.
I mean Buckley might not have been on-field last year much but think of his influence and motivation behidn the scenes?

Because whilst Burnsy deserves to be captain I don't think he's the motivator buckley was and I'm damn sure Josh Fraser isn't.
Heath Shaw for Captain! He's the closest to the motivational juice of buckley in my opinion. Maxwell has it too but i think Maxy tries too hard to the point where its not genuine.

Also on another note KEEP pendlebury in the middle not the back for gods sake and get cloke leading into the forward pockets not leading into the goalsquare....

i dont want to be focusing on draft picks at all over the next few years. i want to see collingwood win as much as possible. i dont want to see fans go down the carlton path and hope we lose for the sake of a higher draft pick! history shows you can get good players higher in the draft. i want collingwood to be winning games!

It's going to be a compelling game.

We're likely to be missing Burns, and another player along the lines of Didak/Swan.

We really must win because a loss would put us 2-4 with another three tough games in a row to follow. The Saints are the weaker of those three teams, however we play them at Telstra Dome where we couldn't get a win in 2007.

Luckily those tough games are followed by a few easier fixtures vs. Blues, Demons and WCE IIRC, but if we don't pull the finger out in the next few it might be a moot point by then. :(

If we can win this week, on the big stage, it will lift the team's spirit a lot! We need to win. If we do, it will show that we really are up to the tough stuff & can play in the big games.
If not, well I'm not really sure what to think.... I'll be rather shattered.:(

Coz we've been so great against these sides in recent history ey?;):p

I agree though, we must win this game. Someone asked last week when 'our game' was, well its this week. This is the game we MUST win for the good of our season. Because the three games after that aren't exactly a walk in the park. By the way to those saying the saints will be a pretty easy win, the Saints at the Dome, we suck there, they are good there, not really a good mix for a win.....

We must win because it's ANZAC day and we are playing those filthy Bombers. Deal with the finals WHEN they come but I want bragging rights for this one first, more so after missing a gloat over the filthier Blues.

"Easier" could still prove too hard, but there's no doubt that Blues/Demons/Eagles is an "easier" trio of opponents than Hawks/Saints/Cats.

Especially with Eagles in current form, and the Saints fixtured at Telstra Dome.
