Surely Clarke will get dropped. Stokes was playing well and unlucky to get dropped, McGlynn must be a chance after a hard running performance for Box Hill last week and even Morton looks a player and gives a different option. Clarke's skills are still dubious at best and he seems to be struggling to find the pill. Last season he was pulling 20-25 touches a week. He's been good tagging, but needs to re-discover the offensive options he provided last year. Then we just need to teach him to hit a target under pressure!

I wouldn't be unhappy with either coming in to be honest. i would like to see stokesy given another run but i'd also like to see if benny mac can get back to last seasons form as he was a big plus for us i thought

Benny Mac. His time has come.

Clarke was fantastic 2 weeks ago agaisnt Mcloed, only caught the last quarter of the match against brissy so cant comment.. His role in the side is to tag players that can hurt us.
He should hold his spot this week expecially with richomnds small midfielders ie foley, tambling, delideo

I would love to see McGlynn back in and yes stokes is fantastic on the offence but we need team balance and clarke has proved his worth for mine so far.

Tambling played last week on the wing just rotating with 31.

De Lid is about 188cm or so, too tall for Clarkey to mind.

I hope he sits on little Jake King. King is used extensively to bring the ball out from the backline.

In: Stokes
Out: Clarke

Should be the final changes for the hawks tonight

EDIT: Now I'm not so sure since I've heard Morton, Stokes, Clarke and McGlynns name on the VFL coverage on the radio today.

That would leave 3 on your bench for sunday.

McGlynn and Morton are both playing Coburg as we speak so you'd think unless an injury happens between now and the game, they will not play.

They've also referred to Tim Clarke and Stokes though in the broadcast. Thats 1 too many "emergencies" playing.

I think maybe Tuck or Boyle have come up or maybe they are brining Dew in a week before we thought.

I thought I heard Clake but wasn't really listening. If he is playing then McGlynn would have to come in. 2:30 Friday - 4:30 Sunday is a fair break so there is probably enough time for him to come up.

Clarke, Stokes and Morton playing for Box Hill. I haven't heard McGlynn's name

They did mention Mcglynn, but maybe they got it wrong (confused with Kenna?) Surely if mcglynn were playing he would have had more of the ball.

Cheeseman has stated in the Box Hill thread that Clarke is playing and McGlynn isnt.

The change is as phreeze said above.

I don't think emergencies play at BH as well.

I think Collins played today. Certainly Bowden and Jackson had a run. Clarke laid a hard tackle on Jackson - legally. Jackson carried on like he had been mugged. What a sook!

When was the last time a senior player was dropped?

I regard Benny Mac as a more damaging player than Timmy but am still surprised Clarko dropped him. Picking a team on form - It is hard to dislike the way Clarko coaches.

Completly agree! Clarke seemed to be a protected species by the coaches and would never get dropped even if it was warranted! It seems Clarko has let his personal opinion and likes for a player not influence how he selects the team. Its not looking good for Clarke, esspecially seeing he is in the leadership group and like you said Friar he is a senior player. Its a change for the better, you can teach any player to tag, but it is harder to teach them to be damaging offensively!

I've been enjoying your multitude of threads praising the virtues of young Collins. I wait with breathless anticipation for his brilliant debut against Hawthorn.:)

Hasn't played well enough to retain his spot!! great to see Clarko rewarding McGlynn who from what I've read has had 2 good games with BH!:thumbsu: Love the way Mighty Mouse plays!

I expect Clarke is out because there is no one who warrants his "attention" in the same way McLeod and Power did. He will be back when we need him. Great we can select players based on form and suitability to opponents and conditions.

McGlynn is in because it is likely to be slippery, he will add a little more in and under to the team than Clarke.

Good swap.

Been looking fwd to Benny getting a game and dropping Clarke isn't going to hurt us, esp against the Tigers.

No conspiracy theory about protected species, it's a horses for courses swap.

McGlynn is the better option . Great to see him get his chance to cement a spot in the side this season

I think that McGlynn is in because it looks like it's going to rain.

We all love Clarke, but let's be honest, his disposal by foot isn't his strong point (though it's improved a hell of alot over the past few years). Playing in the rain probably wouldn't help.

Never fear, I expect Clarke to be back playing for us next week.

McGlynn>Clarke

And by the way, I don't think he would anyway because Dew will be back.

Any news on Boyle?

Dont know whether McGlynns disposal is significantly better than Clarkes..

I think people have forgotten how good McGlynn was for periods last year, he hit a purple patch of form for a while, and really wasn't just a part of the 22, but a key part.

We our midfield depth getting stronger and stronger, its just going to make it easier for McGlynn with less attention, but he has under-rated pace, and his kicking has improved. His kicking goal last year was a highlight of the steps he's made.

Definately in our 22 for mine.

Does anyone know how long Tom Murphy will be out for? His finger damage must have been far worse than I thought..
