Should cricket be played as a team sport at the Commonwealth Games?

It won't be included at Melbourne 2006 (they went for basketball) although if India is successful for the 2010 games, could cricket make a comeback to the Commonwealth Games after Kuala Lumpur 1998?

The Commonwealth has all the 10 test nations - although the West Indies are divided up into their islands/countries. It also gives the nations like Canada a chance to improve their teams for possible selection into the World Cup.

Worthwhile or Worthless for Cricket to be reintroduced at the Commonwealth Games?

I like the idea of cricket in the Commonwealth Games. It's good to see sports not in the Olympics in the Commonwealth Games. Well, that would also be another gold medal for Australia!!!

I like the idea of Cricket being included in the Commonwealth Games, but I am not sure how the scheduling would go.

Cheers!!

Yeah, cricket should be included in the Commonwealth games.

Not too sure what they would do about the West Indies though. Personally, I reckon they should compete as one nation in the olympics anyway....

they made an attempt at KL 4 years ago but the format of a reduced side and numbers of overs was a limitation. With the time that the games lasts for it is impossible to actually run the tournament properly over only 10 days.
