Remember, this has nothing to do with these players' form in 08, or 06/05 etc - purely 07.
For me, Ablett had the better season. Of course Jimmy had a great year, but I think Ablett's was on another level.
I made this poll to see the results. I have a feeling that Bartel will either win this poll, or it'll be closer than what their seasons suggest, purely because Bartel won the Brownlow medal.
Prior to the brownlow medal count last year, the overwhelming majority of people had ablett as the favourite to win, and if they didn't, about 19/20 people would've had ablett at least above bartel, going by this site's posts.
Now this is not a knock to bartel, i simply want to see if what i'm feeling is true - that the opinion of umpires will cause the footy public to change their minds and go along with them when it comes to who had a better season because of the brownlow, subconsciously.
