We need to take a positive from this game (loss) and say ok, that is the benchmark.

We played like a top 4 team tonite and got pipped at the post by the reigning premiers who haven't lost a game in who knows when. I thought a win would be the season turner for us but that may be an even greater spark going forward.

I can't remember being more emotional at a game. Yes I'm devastated but there is some promise in that team :thumbsu:

Trouble is - that benchmark would be to high to be continually sustained. You guys where awesome for much of the game last night - but no team could keep it up for a season.

However - if every team played in the same manner against Geelong week in week out, they would very soon start to lose games.

yes a line in the sand must be drawn re being 39 points up during second Q and butchering our lead then busting their guts to get a lead of over 4 goals to three Q time then to see it evaporate in 12 minutes.

Its all to do with developing an Agrade midfield - in the end they had too may
class players in the midfield that couldn't be curtailed for thwe whole game.

Geelong have done it for the last 18 months, why shouldn't Freo aim to do the same? The players have shown what they can do. They've done it before, they can do it again. They need to be measuring their performance against their best.

Geelong have not played at that lavel for the last 18 months. No team has. Last night was well above the usual 22 games. (and Geelong only started their run this time last year - 12 months).

Perhaps this might be a turning point for Freo.
