Pleas learn a technique we like to call "kicking".
Thank you.
P.S: I thought Thornton was good, but he handballed WAY too much. He has the agility to easily break tackles IMO, but he doesn't seem to like to kick.
Speaking of his kicking, how weird is his technique?

I'm not a fan. If we are going to play someone who is built like a teenager we might aswell select a teenager.
Injuries to Dodd, Grover and Hayden late in the game will keep him in the side assuming atleast one of them will miss next week. The nine day break has come at a great time though.
We only play one game in the next 22 days.

I thought he was great tonight..
He's not orthodox but the run he brought off half back was so crucial in the first half.
Reminded me why he is a such an important part of the team

In my opinion I dont think he has the agility to break a tackle, but he has the agility to avoid a tackle. ;)

Yes so did I. He definately added some spark to the outfit.
was good for you guys... handballs a lot, and once or twice put a team mate under pressure, but on the whole he did more good than bad...
Casper was superb. Showed why he's so highly rated with his dash. his defensive work was much better tonight too.
dont bowl there

Was in out top 5 players tonight for mine, keeps on taking on the opposition with run from defense. Some nights it will come off, some it wont. Hope he never changes though.

Agree with this.
I thought his pace allowed him to run through the centre from defence and break the lines - something Peake used to do well - something that has been missing from your side in recent times.
The type of game that Thornton can build on in the coming weeks.

I think a lot of people underestimate the run we get and need from our half-back line. Thornton, Black, Mundy and Johnson have been the main providers and all have quite good skills (except Johnson stuffs it up too often ). With these guys out, our poor midfield is even more exposed.
Same thing happened last year with Black and Thornton out with injury and Johnson's ridiculous suspension.
It was good to see Scotty respond with the right attitude to nearly missing out. If the others discussed on the 'noses out of joint' thread can respond in a similar fashion, things may turn around pretty soon.

Must admit I forgot about Heath Black and the importance of him bringing the ball out of defence, but IMO Black does his damage with the penetration in his kicking, whereas tonight it was the pace at which Thornton ran the ball out (in a straight line too) that caught my attention tonight.
Rightly or wrongly, it's not something I remember seeing all that much since late 2006 when Peake's run through the middle was so effective.
You guys would know better than me though.

Thornton was fantastic tonight. I thought everyone would be full of praise for him.
I really can't believe there is a thread criticising him. Some people must watch a different game to me.

Just like week after week of threads saying that Sandi should be dropped and Warnock our number one ruckman. People either dont watch the game closely or are just plain stupid when it comes to AFL.
Well to fair the OP critisised. Everyone else has mentioned how good he was.
wasnt the last time he kicked a ball he ended their former coaches career?
maybe hes gun shy

Nah, that is pretty much on the money. Well put actually.
