Really Good Win

I know we only played Essendon and we shouldn't get carried away but these are the games in the past 2 season we haven't done so well in. Sides like the bombers we should beat by 10 goals plus like the cats do but we normally just sneak in by 20 points or so or do what we did against Carlton and lose.

When we come up against the top side we give a good account of ourself so i think yesterday was a really good win for us. We did what we had to do players got some form back and 2 young kids got some good game time with having to worry about losing. Next week is another test but if history is anything to go by we will do the B&W proud.

While we have to remember it was only Essendon (a depleated one at that), it was good to see that we can beat sides by 10 goals. After the last couple of weeks I must admit I was a bit worried about our season, I am still worried, I'm still not so sure we will make finals, but if we can win 2 of our next 3 i'll be very happy.

I had us down to beat both North and Essendon when we went through the fixture a fortnight ago, so we've still got plenty of work ahead of us. We really need to win at least one of the next three games to be a factor.

Having said that, a win is a win is a win, and that was a good one.

It was a really good win against any side and by any standards.

To temper it by apologising for Essendon is taking away from our boys and the rest of the competition.
Essendon could have foreseeably beaten us given our past two weeks form and managed to look good until 1/2 way through the second quarter.
It is the misconception that we should beat any team easily which leads to the crushing disappointment which follows when they beat us.

Both teams beat us when it was widely expected we should have crushed them.

It is dumb to expect to beat any team as every team can beat any other in the right circumstances...how close Freo....if Pavlova kicked straight it would have been the upset of the year...
