View Full Version : Adelaide v Essendon R19
I am surprised by the lack of Bombers supporters tipping you this week as I thought you tipped the Bombers every week. Anyhow I know why you aren't! I thought this game would be very tough at the start of the season for us (the Crows) but now, after looking at the respective midfields, I have every confidence we will win. It's not a certainty yet but if Lloyd is a no-show at the airport I belive we are almost there.
Sorry bomber fans but I think your midfield might not be able to keep up with our speedy, skilful players such as mcleod, riccuito, johnson, bode, edwards, goodwin, ladhams and bickley. Also I think your midfield, as lined up in the paper, is far too defensive with peverill and heffernan and also misiti who is a ball-magnet but too slow.
Should be a good game though and I still do believe that the bombers will make the finals when you win your last three (Please beat Collingwood). What are all bombers fans' thoughts?
Good luck for the rest of the season (After this round ofcourse)

Well, I imagine that most bomber fans generally agree with you, ajmart. You may be underestimating Pevrill, though.

I think the midfield is okay; the problem I see is coming up with enough goals to win. We haven't kicked a 100 point scoreline in several weeks, and with Lloyd not likely to suit up, I don't see why this week will be any different. Even when guys like Lucas are in form, they rarely kick more than two goals anymore. We are going to need a 5-6 goal bag from somebody to win.

I tip Essendon every week (and tip against Carlton as well:D ) but sometimes you just have to be realistic.
We don't finish games well, and after the tough hard game against Brisbane last week, we would need to be 15 goals up at halftime just to scrape through by a goal.
We have a very unpreductive forward line, and without Lloyd, well, you know...
If we get up, I'll be a huge surprise.

I think you will find that a lot of Bombers are tipping us this week, just not many on BF, beware of the Bombers when they are fighting for a finals berth. ;)

I personally am mid way to being very ****ed.
Roll on 2003, cos' 2002 ain't gonna be worth **** for us the way we are going...
We can't beat Brisbane, Port or Adelaide. Guess what campers???
They are the top three sides. If we lose to Collingwood next week the rout is complete. Basically on performance we did not deserve a top four finish.
Man I want the boys to turn it around so badly. I think that the way they can do this, is with simple running. Play wingmen like full forwards and lead out to the ball. . Then bomb to a contest at CHF...**** we are already just bombing through the wing as it is.
Then leave Rioli, Moorcroft, even Caracella et al behind the pack at CHF a la Norff. When the mark is spilled (as it seems to be at the moment) you have a shot on goal.

Presumably because it is illegal for those type of institutions to allow their patients to go online.

All I want is for us to score 13-14 goals next week.
I think I'm asking too much, though. There just doesn't seem to be any "magic" with the team this year. Even in 1997 (9-13) and 1998 (12-10), we could still pull out an unexpected win against the odds and kick a reasonably score. Same in 1992, when we had a lot of kids coming through
This year, however, is the most uninspiring year I can remember. Worse than 1987, 1988, 1997 or 1998. There's just no excitement about the team.

I have stood through more Essendon floggings than youv`e had hot dinners, missed 4 since `73. you don`t like criticising Essendon, you only see good things and that`s lovely and that will send you down with carlton to chat about old times.
and this "rellie" rubbish....where did that come from. I scream my ti ts off for Essendon from go to whoa (only if we are struggling, when we`re killing teams i shut up).....what do you do in w.a in front of the telly ?
