Good to see Sydney had a win.....at the end of the season when it means nothing.
And after your coach was ummm sacked, jumped, walked the plank, whatever by the delightful, urbane Colless.

Geez whats with all the bitterness? You'd think we'd milked a last minute free for the win.

Good to see you take it so personally, I haven't rub the win in your face yet you and Tashi come onto this board to vent your frustations ... Take it to the Roos board where it belongs.
You're right it doesn't mean much since we won't be competing in the finals this year, but a win's a win and they're always good (especially, dare I say it, against the Roos ;) ).
Good luck for the rest of the season, it's good to see the Roos - Swans rivalry still going along nice and strong! :)

No, that was in the first game against Sydney.
Glad to see you acknowledge poor sportmanship. But the umpire was also to blame in that fiasco.
Interesting to hear 'Rocket's comments about Sydney players and kicking deliberately to nowhere.
He believes that if a player is under no pressure, then he should not be allowed to "just kick anywhere".
And the players mentioned, were the players he coached. :o

Yeah, I realise this. But I think you have to admit we just outplayed you in the last quarter tonight.
Was Rocket commentating tonight? I thought it was Kevin Bartlett and Wayne Schwass. Anyway, I don't think we have played that sort of defensive football since Roos took over.

As I don't have Foxtel, I was forced to listen to dribble m.
Yes, Rocket was commentating. And some of his comments - without the aid of vision - were interesting to say the least.
Early on, I gather the Swans got the benefit of some very doubtful decisions. Later on, the other commentators were practically barracking for Sydney and asked Rocket how did he see a few passages of play. Mostly he thought they should have gone in favour of North :o but didn't. :(
Can't comment on the last quarter, as I didn't see it.
This year has been the worst for North as far as TV goes. I think North have been on TV approx 5-6 games.
And Channel 10 are set to drop the Sydney games from prime time.
What a great move by AFL to give the constorium the TV rights!!!

Actually I thought we were pretty hard done by in the umpiring department (though take away my natural bias and it would be about even).
It's pretty sad that the reasonable North fans (and I know some of them DO exist!!) obviously haven't got home to post on BF yet. I'm big enough to admit when a side has played all over us.. And we romped all over Roo carcass in the second half tonight (our 2nd quarter was bad though).
Ah well, such is life eh?

Both sides were hard done by the umpires throughout the night. But nothing major that would have changed the outcome of the game. The Paul and Paul show was sensational to watch

Tashi and Michele
Behave yourselves on other club boards. We don't like it when other fans come onto the Roos board to wipe dog sh*t on our e-carpet, so don't come onto the Swans board to wipe in on their e-carpet. You can put your anti-Swans rants either on our board or on the main board.
Cheers

Thanks for that Shinboners :)
Apology accepted Tashi, can understand how you were a bit peeved with the match last night. Our victory last night is a bit hollow in a way because it has come half a season too late whilst you on the other hand still are a good chance for the finals.

Thanks Shinboners and Tashi... I love a good bit of banter on the boards, but lets keep focused eh? :)
Tashi - When I am ropable after a Sydney game (happens too often)... What I do is I TURN OFF the computer and refuse to even look at the boards until I've slept on it and can cool down. Just a thought :) I hope Stevens is ok, he's had a hell of a year, really...

One noticeable lack of apology on this thread, I see.
I reckon that last quarter was probably the best I've seen from the Swans this year, combined with the worst I've ever seen from the Roos.

as you barrack for Port I would expect this to be true...
BTW... well played Swans... and goodriddans to the SCG... but still it made me laugh when the FOX commentator refered to Sydney's record over North at the SCG... I think it is 13-8 our way... was 13-4 two years ago...

Mid way thru the last qtr it was 8 free kicks (kangaroos) to Sydney 3.
So I cant say we had the run of theu mps ..
One thing is for certain
Our list is competitive, very competitive.
If we could only play with as positive a frame of mind as we took into the 2nd half on Saturday then we can beat anybody.
Its just all played between the ears these days isn't it ?
and Tashibatts - take itr as a back handed compliment but I thought we took a leaf out of the Denis Pagan Coaching Book on Saturday.
Instead of handballing and chip kicking our way into cul-de-sacs, well blow me down if we didn'y kick long and direct all night and reaped the rewards.
22 Goals, 10 in one quarter and a good win against opposition that likes to play long and direct themselves.
Well done Swannies - see what happens when you kick it directly at the big sticks at every possible opportunity ?
cheers

Ahhh who is coaching now?? :D
Who used to run out of Halfback to set up the attack?? :D
Who used to mention during the Ch7 years that the "swans" had to play a more direct route to goals. Kick long and hard into the goal square. :D
Don't you remember BSA? :D :D
Ahh I knew our list had some talent!
:)
Its all coming back to me now :D
Glad to see somebody did the maths for once
Short Ground + Long Kicks = Goals
